Server Merge Delayed/New Name Confict Details (Epic Fail Inside)

The server merge part isn't a problem in and of itself; it will be healthy for the game, especially for the PvP element. PvE might get a bit more challenging with more people competing for fewer grind spots / NMs, but given what endgame looks like right now, it should be worth it. The main issue here is the... less than amazing name handling. I'm not actually that concerned about losing any of my names, it'd suck but I'll handle it. But I didn't pay extra money to get them.

Remember that they added more servers than needed at start, and forced people to roll on "smaller" servers as a stop gap while they fixed the queue issues.

As it stands imo to this those people that were forced to say reroll on kalil due to this and are level 50 should be keeping their name over someone whos lvl10 on the new merge server.

As it stands my biggest issue was until now was competing against people with low level alts, hell only 1 being one level lower as my Inphyy the rest not even 25 hell most of em less than 10 or in the teens. But whats made it worse now is ANYONE regardless of time spent etc could ninja the names with a lvl1 mule or rename their main to one of the names most likely namejackers and trolls. Its the whole way theyve dealt with this issue they say they were to release details on the day of the merge then changed it to this halfassed crap. Every board is raging at this less 24 hours after its announcement from aionsouce to the official boards on the german french english and americans. Hell its prolly the biggest shitstorm since the 30min fort sieges. If not bigger.

I can understand people that maybe built up a reputation under a certain name, or had a name that was witty or what not. But quitting because you can't get the name you wanted? I agree NCsoft went about this pretty poorly, but lets get serious here it really isn't THAT big a deal.

I'm sorry, but personally I've built up a fucking reputation on two factions on the same server. To have to lose all that because some dipshit decided to take my name? That's bullshit, and there really isn't much reason to play if my name is lost.
I'm 100% positive I'm not the only one who feels like this, albeit under very different circumstances I'm sure.
What if some famed crafter on the server who's trusted with millions of kinah for mats gets their name jacked some some faggot can scam a bunch of people under that same name?
Seriously, it kind of IS a big deal in a lot of circumstances.

Indeed, there's just too much possibilities for scams and low blows with this name changing shit. Even if there is indeed a database with your new and old name, there will still be some people that don't take the time to check and get fucked over for it.

I do care that they chose the laziest and easiest way of doing this. I never really cared about how NC is managing this game, or all their delays, but how they're handling this says a lot about how lazy and incompetent these guys are.

All I was saying was that I don't really want my reputation lost because some dick takes my name. I paid extra money for the name; and it's not even the name I care about; it's who the name is on my server at this point. Hated or liked, i don't give a fuck, but I've built up a person under this name and to have it all jacked from under me pisses me off. A lot.

It is important for people who lack attention in other parts of their life, so they make a "reputation" for themselves in game and think other players will go OMG ITS DAT GUY WHO IZ RLY GUD. QQing over a name is silly, because no matter what name you have, it's the way you interact with people that is important, not about the stories people heard about you. The only legitimate argument here would be that you like your name or that it has some signification for you outside of the e-peen one and even then, a pretty name is easy to find/make. Gotta agree with everyone else that this is a mess, but nothing of such great importance as some try to make you think.

ok mr. hollywood, your just an attention whore in Vaizel and your posts about your name prove it. you started elyos with the name Nerine and then some time later you started an asmo with the same name that WAS NOT taken at the time. what makes you think Nerine is such valuable name anyways? just like it was said earlier, nobody outside of your friends/legionmates know or want to know who you are so just settle the fuck down.
