So I was talking to my body shop and they said that if Mazda agrees to repaint my car that I should ask them to leave the pearl outta the paint because the pearl is what really makes it hard to match if anything was to ever happen to it. I mean it'll have the same base coat so I see no reason why going straight dark grey would be a problem. Prolly easier/ cheaper for them. But then I gotta deal with them being ohh this is just all about this kid getting a different color or some shit even in reality it's the same just no pearl.

lol i took it back in on 3-15-09 and 11-5-09 because of the paint and I was never notified of any of those.

yea when I bought the car it had upgraded rims and suspension but of course from the dealership they're expensive as hell so I was like is there anyway to have them removed from the car and taken off the sticker price and they were like oh sureeee no problem. well they took the tires back but told me that they left the suspension on there because the labor cost was more than the suspension itself. But when looking at the springs now they look pretty damn stock to me lol.

purchased it in my mothers name. Vicki

Edit: I have no problem with the gas cap.. but like when you fill up at the pump usually your shit will click to let you know that you're about to be at the top. Well apparently I got an upgraded system or something is seriously wrong.. only way i can tell when im full is when i starts spraying the ground with gas.. I literally have to drive it to empty each time before i fill it up so i can keep up with how many gallons ive pumped so i know when to stop to avoid that shit

Also, it should be easy enough to tell if you have the stock shocks v. the performance ones. Mazda more than likely went with performance bilsteins's, since they did the same with Miata on the performance suspension package.

The shock bodies are yellow instead of black.

    Browse around http://www.rx8club.com

You will find a ton of information about the car. If there are any service bulletins (different than an outright recall) on the car, I do not think the dealer is forced to tell you (recall they have to notify you). If you are having a problem related to one of the service bulletins, get all that shit fixed as well.

You should be able to find the colors of the stock rx-8 shocks v. the performance shocks on there as well.

Yea ive been browsing the forums. I just love you guys so much I already turn to BG first

    http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d4...85/photo-1.jpg

    They look stock.
    They feel stock.
And they're not yellow and they say mazda on front.

I'm really beginning to regret getting this car, the dealership was right across the road from the nissan dealership and we originally just went over there to maybe "Scare" them into a better deal if they saw us go over to another dealership or so my mother suggested lol. Got over there and my dumb ass fell in love with the car right off the bat.

Atleast I feel like I'm finally uncovering some stuff I wasnt aware of. The recall stuff really pisses me off tho. Unfortunately tho theres no documentation of that guy telling me they left the springs on there because the labor out weighed the cost of the springs. But we'll see what happens.

A lot of the parts on our cars are similar/interchangeable since the the RX-8 is the same frame as the Miata, just a bit elongated.

That being said, those look exactly like the stock miata springs. If you post that pic on RX-8 Club they can let you know for sure.

If it makes you feel any better, the suspension package springs on the miata weren't worth the money over the stock ones anyways. It's more than likely the same case for the RX-8

it was 5K for the rims and the shocks.

They took them off and deducted the 5K off. The following week I bought the same rims online but an inch bigger for 1200 w/ tires lol.

Before I bust up in there all pissed off I went back and looked at all our previous cars.

    Duval mazda:
    2007 rx-8

    Duval Honda:
    97 accord
    2001 accord
    2003 accord
    2006 crv

    Duval ford:
    2001 escape
    2004 expedition

Should I try to be nice first and to show our loyalty to the duval company or should I just go straight for the jugular?

It's with the dealership and I told them that the GM must be there. I talked to the GM on the phone for a good hour and a half and he says rest assured that it'll get fixed. He said it's an opportunity to perform warranty work and Mazda pays good for any warranty work done on vehicles. Which if it's the same as It is when we do warranty work on phones at my sprint job then he's right, so maybe he'll see this as a money making opportunity and just take care of it. Well see in three days! I'll let you know!

Yay whole car getting painted. They're offering to paint 75% of it since they believe that much of the car is effected by oxidation and fading and all that good stuff.

Changing color to a straight up charcoal gray, no more metallic flakes or anything. The guy strongly recommended against changing colors but I rather get something that isnt going to suck down the line or be hard to match if I have ever to have repair done to it.

Also they're installing an auxillary port for my ipod and a six disk CD changer for no additional charge.

The GM was an amazing guy, I guess he really understood how I felt whenever I told him my car was my baby and lately I've been wanting to hang it over the side of a fifth story balcony like MJ did with blanket.

How are they painting 75% of the car if it's a different color? Are you paying the other 25% out of pocket?

The Mazda reps are, on the whole, very easy to deal with. I'm glad your shit is getting fixed up.

they're painting both main doors, blending into back doors, painting roof, and trunk lid. he said that's prolly around 65-75% of the car they're painting. he told me it would look like it just came off the show room floor, but imo thats not possible with how old the car is so I asked if i could just pay the rest outta pocket and he said yea so we'll see how it turns out.
