Almost all of the main character deaths weren't that surprising because most of those characters had already given up.

Personally, I've I was in a zombie apocalypse, I would probably be alert all the time. Maybe because I grew up in the ghetto and during the drive by 90s? I sure as hell wouldn't be talking and screaming and crying all the fucking time. Seems Rick is getting to the point where he has run out of patience for that same bullshit.

This week on the Walking Dead: Dozens of red-shirts die. I guess Holly's at least a named character, and slightly more important in the comics, so some people might have found her loss significant. But from a viewer standpoint, nothing of significance was lost. Maybe next week?

They're on their way, I'm sure. Next week's preview showed a lot more violence. I'm guessing that they manage to corral some of the zombies and keep driving them away, taking some of their best fighters out of the picture, but if there are 30,000 walkers in the quarry (which is what Nicotero apparently confirmed on last week's Talking Dead), it doesn't take a very large percentage of that to cause a full scale siege of Alexandria.

Just finished compendium #3, which ends with the "border" set up by the Whisperers (issue #144). That was intense. I think they're deliberately setting up bigger cliffhangers for the compendium ends, because they want me to read the comics more than once every four years. I might have to do that, but there would literally be years' worth of time with just slow development. Which works fine when you have the whole book, but not so much when you get them once a month.

I knew about Glenn, but had somehow stayed unspoiled on Abraham, and they both died in the first four issues of Compendium #3. That was rough. Also, I see what the big deal about Negan is. And I love the fact he's still chillin' in the basement.

It's also curious to me that instead of Denise being a skilled surgeon, she's never even lifted a scalpel. Curious why they took that creative direction.

I disagree, I fucking loved this episode. Best episode since the one where Carol went Rambo to save them from Terminus.

Episode started off slowly and lured me in, then the horn went off and I thought "ok, we'll deal with some kid blowing a horn or something at the camp and they'll figure out a way to divert the walkers.." Then the smoking woman got face wrecked on her lawn by the wolf and all hell broke loose. Totally didn't see it coming. Fucking amazing episode.

Nope, the first clue that something was wrong was when the smoking lady got machete'd. But considering how easy it has been for Enid and Carl to get out of the compound without any major effort, I don't think it would be tough for a determined group to get over the wall. Or at least get a person or two to do that, and then open the gate for the rest. The supports are on the outside of the wall, and I believe it was discussed last season that while the wall would do a great job of keeping walkers out, it would be much less effective against humans. It's not that big a plot hole in my opinion, and I think the reveal was far more effective this way. I also think there's a good chance it will be addressed next week (or the week after) when people scouting out the wall find a ladder or other evidence of how they got in.

I think it was more to show the dichotomy between the two being on the same side. Same team, much different methods of how to deal with the situation and the world as it is now.

With that said...wow. As much as I like Morgan and his character and skill...Carol wins this episode. I'm really more shocked that more people don't think like she does and uses her methods. Yes its a bit risky by both covering up yourself with walker guts like she did in terminus then doing what she did in this episode, but she kept her shit together and got it done for the most part.


On another note, was it just me or did head chick lady's (forgetting her name something hard now) expression totally change once she got in the truck? Like she was about to scheme something serious?

Yeah, also you have to remember they were down to skeleton crew, since most "fighters" were out herding the herd. From what we saw, there were literally only 2 people on the lookout. One guy over the gates and one guy in the tower. Actually, now that I think about it, the guy in the tower had 360 view of compound. Should have spotted 20+ people sneaking up the walls.
