Coming From FFXI to WoW....

To be fair, my first character was an affliction lock, after that I already knew all the quest areas and figured out optimal routes, which helped a shit ton

Soul Leech/Spirit Link warlock at is so easy to level 71-80 :> Tab cast Corrupt on everything and the 3 player elite quests are easily soloed with Felguard.

Affliction lock is faster anyway, because you tab cast corrupt on everything and are completely unkillable

Edit: Or do you mean Siphon Life in the Affliction tree, since you mention tab-casting corruption? And voidwalker (though unnecessary anyway) for elite quests?

It's harder on your first character. If you go around a 2nd time, you know what quest to skip and how to play efficiently. You will have overpowered BoE items, good spec..etc

id say leveling in ffxi was just as easy as wow. the only difference. ffxi was more time consuming. More or less waiting on people to get online to exp/traveling to a camp. wow is kinda just get on and go.

with all the stuff in wow thats new, such as the dungeon que+exp from honorable kills in bg's. its even easier now to level then when i started.

its really 2 different play styles, unless you just exp grind instances from dungeon ques which would equal out to be close to the same.

My first class was priest and before the random dungeon (a class that can be gay to lvl before 40-60) and still wow leveling was so easy compared to ff, ff is so unfriendly to newcomers even these days.

Prot Pally grinding would like to say hi.

In addition to that I did go 75-80 in a day on both my DK, shaman and pally, without doing the prot pally grind, just from questing in Scholazar, Storm Peaks and Icecrown. Epic flying did help, but honestly, gold isn't hard to make in WoW.

While I agree that leveling in WoW is easier than in FFXI based on the fact that you don't lose EXP in WoW and you can solo. I don't have to sit in the dunes for 3 hours waiting for a healer or tank etc.

However, I do call BS on "both" of your 3 classes going from 75 to 80 in a day. While the leveling can be streamlined etc, there is no way you made like 20ish million experience in 1 day without some help.

Sorry, English isn't my first language; I thought it sounded natural to use the word "both" to indicate that I was talking about my DK, pally and shaman, but it's been pointed out to me that this is only for when I am referring to two things, not more than two. Also, I meant that each of my classes took only a day to go from 75-80, not that I went from 75-80 on three classes in a day.

The fact that you have 1.5mil TNLs 70-80 makes up for the fact that you can quest and solo easier in WoW vs. FFXI.

Got half an entire exp bar in 3 hrs last night. Was pretty proud of myself.
