SE does everything right for once and people still bitch. Abyssea is great, why are you so convinced it's a mistake? They've been getting better and better about responding to the playerbase over the last 2 years or so, if you can't see that then you're fucking blind.

If they didn't upgrade hardware I'm sure you'd be complaining about the lag constantly.. god forbid they fix the problem before it's out of hand.

Personally died to an Aern in ruhmet the other day because I was lagging so badly it's name stayed gray and untargetable until after it killed me. I think that's something that should be fixed, if it takes them 9 hours then so be it.

Take note of the name posting this, if I can be positive about SE then I'm sure they're doing something right.

Anyone noticed how the server status list on PoL website has this listed as a "Partial Maintenance"?

If memory recalls, don't they only use that term when only certain server servers are going down?

Maybe 9 hours is a rough estimate as to how long it will take to do it all, and they will be bringing servers back up as they finish with their "Server machine".

I'm gambling the FFXI servers and the FFXIV servers share hardware and this maintenance is for FFXIV beta implementation.

FTFY, and QFT. Back when we were kids my brother got pissed because I was teasing him about how bad he sucked at video games and threw our NES against the wall. He put a big crack in the case but the system still works fine to this day.

When in reality its probably much simpler. They're just shuffling as bunch of stuff around so they can get rid of the two suckiest servers and free up some room to bring in the FF14 servers
