Bahamut seemed really different when I resubbed. Recognized very few NA players, but strangely enough recognized a lot of JP players. Seems like much of Bahamut's population is remnants of the server transfer influx/new players/no-names. Due to this, I transferred off, which is why Rocl is mad at me.
The JPs are the same, pretty much, new LS name, same shit. FI Airships and what-not. The only linkshells I can remember offhand from ancient times that are still alive on the NA side are things like BG and UDF. If you're looking for a more recent 2nd-3rd generation, CetraSanctuary and UWF are still alive I think. Kazoku transferred off (thank god), and their splinter shell Steadfasts or w/e has been absorbed into the conglomerate Bahamut Zombies. At least, I think that's how the legend goes. BZ was made during one of my many forays into "not FFXI" so yeah, I may not be the best to ask.

If HNM isn't your thing, uh, well there's plenty of campaign and limbus and dynamis? Τhough events are quickly becoming obsolete. Thankfuckingod.

Bunch of no-name server transfers now in some shitty orange pearl, protecting the border and what-not. I try my best to ignore them, but god is it hilarious watching retards drown in a kiddy pool.

Old-school NAs? Well, my boy, you have me and Belkin, clearly all you ever need. Even if I am obviously SNES. (This would be a list of a bunch of BG people, because in my old age I have retired from fraternizing heavily with other linkshells.)

    Kazoku is gone
    Steadfast is gone
    Reflect is gone
    FI is gone
    LoP is gone
    Kinzuru is gone
    ApkalluVendetta is gone
    Repentance is gone

You may be asking yourself, what is left? Well, I'll give you an answer, LAD!

    UDF - Abyssea/Einherjar/Dynamis/Limbus

BZ - Abyssea/Walk of Echos/Einherjar/Dynamis/Limbus/HNM that are still worth it

BG - Same as BZ/UDF basically

MinuetxMen - Server garbage, wipe to HNM time and time again. Raizen is the leader, Megbite is a sack. LS is falling apart after buying a packet bot that nobody ever uses. The people that actually wised up to the nonsense broke off and made....

Fulmination - Seems like a bunch of server transfers that are only looking for a small group to do things with. I don't really have too much BAD to say about them since I don't know most of them yet. I would be bitter if they camped HNM but HNM are practically worthless now so I don't care what they do.

Box LS - Same JP faggots you've seen for the past 7 years. Camp every HNM every day regardless of the time. They used to be really big doucher's until they started talking crap on MinutexMen, now they are kind of funny. Again, I care less about them since HNM suck now. I think they are slowly realizing HNM are worthless now too.

I'd say the big three NA linkshells all have a mutual respect for each other and we often collaborate on content both new and old via information exchange/team up. There is no more drama on Bahamut unless you count joke LS's like MM.

I take it a lot of people I used to know and do things with are gone and few that remain probably don't remember me. If I do decide to come back to the game, I'm not even sure where to begin. So much content has been added.

How is the economy on Bahamut? Is crafting completely shot? Realistically, how possible is it to finish a relic these days, taking current economy of the server into consideration?

What's the population like during NA primetimes? How difficult is it to get a pick up group for small one party thing like assaults/quests/missions/etc? (I realize a smart person would avoid pick ups like a plague, but tbh I did a lot of game content this way and worked out okay in the end, even thought it came with a lot of frustration at times)

Economy on Bahamut is like the economy anywhere. Shit is expensive and there is no way to make reliable money.

Dynamis currency and new items from harder events (Walk of Echos and bosses of Abyssea zones) are the only ways to make money anymore and they take a moderate amount of people to produce proper results. Nobody wants to do dynamis anymore because 90% of the AF2 is now worthless. My guess is that within the next few months the prices of currency will continue to increase due to lack of interest in dynamis as a LS staple event.

I came back about a month before this new update and Bahamut was a wasteland. Sometimes NA primetime would yield as low as 800 people. The update has brought more people back, so the number is around 1200 at about 7:30pm EST. But remember, Bahamut is a predominantly JP server. During weekends in JP primetime, you'll see over 2000 people.

Despite all the content it's not that hard to catch up. I started back in May, and it's been pretty easy to get missions done. CoP is soloable/duoable now for the most part for example, not that I can imagine people going into sea much right now with Walk of Echoes/Abyssea to do.

Yeah, I know they're gone. Are you still on Bahamut?

I finished with CoP content when I stopped playing. Is most of the new content soloable or requires a small PT?

That sounds very depressing and actually one of the reasons I stopped playing. Ended up worrying about making money more than actually enjoying content.

I dunno, I haven't had to worry about money since I came back really. I got 1M gil from LS since I've been back but other than that, I've been too busy to make money and I'm doing perfectly fine.

I don't know how I'm managing to stay afloat in terms of money, but the only real hit to my coffers was buying scrolls from NPC after this update. I should've waited goddamnit, I figured "hey its been 2-3 days and no one found them, maybe theyre NPC only" stupid stupid stupid

I just mentioned CoP cuz I thought you meant you would be completely starting over. As far as abyssea goes, that's a PT-alliance farming sort of thing, but I can't imagine it's hard to find people to go in with. Only requirement to go in was cutscene > talk to npc and then you'd be good to go.

I haven't been able to make much money since I started. 100% of my gear was either given to me, loaned to me until I can buy my own, or paid for with gil that was given to me by friends. Most of the time I've barely had 20k on me. Only recently was I able to make a little money by selling some of the gear purchased with cruor (abyssea currency), but I expect prices to fall pretty quickly on most of that armor with everyone else trying to sell it as well.

basically, it's easy to find people to do content with. making money is still a bitch.

I've made about 9-10m in the month or so I've been back <_> sky is pretty much ruined but there are still plenty of ways to make money. Do want LS payout though ;o

Typical luck. Finally reinstalled and was about to update files old fashioned way while I was at work and BAM, maintenance.

I don't think I would even consider starting over. Luckily I still have two hand-me-downs accounts with multiple 75s that I can play around with. I was pretty caught up in terms of content on both so catching up shouldn't be too difficult. Unfortunately, both still need Haidates lol... (Unless there's a better item out there now)

Is the veri-sign nonesense still by-passable through PS2 reactivation?

I'm actually pretty excited about returning. Hopefully new content is not a complete crap.

You won't be disappointed. I've been very pleased with the direction the game has taken since the newest update personally.

i haven't been on bahamut since back in like november and even then bahamut had turned into the ghost town it is atm. i remember seeing about 1k-1.1k players on during NA hrs before i went to bismarck. my few buds that stayed on bahamut still say its a shithole during NA hrs.

ff14 release is only gonna make bahamut more dead then it is atm. personally i finally quit ff11 a week ago. just ain't got the time for endgame atm really since i just got a job. if your going to play again i would highly recommend playing on one of the merged servers since they have much better populations to get shit done

Funny thing is, there were none for a very long time. Bahamut was locked for over a year.
There aren't that many tells though, least I don't get much, maybe one every few days.

Anyways, CetraSanctury isn't quite here anymore. After three years, our beloved tyrant has stepped down, something about herding cats. You can't really replace Kyatasutorofii, and anyways any members qualified to lead also don't have the time to take up the position.
Won't really see how everything falls for a bit, cause technically we're on break until the World Cup is over.
So it's now a small social LS where some of us screw around with Abyssea. Maybe as levels rise over the next updates, we'll start low-manning stuff, but nobody is really in charge anymore.
As we never did HNMs, I know fuckall about that scene, so can't say anything about that.

Hmm, Rolanberry mall is still there, Bastok still can't Conquest for shit.

    What he said ^^^

I've been playing for months from my return from a year ago without a single RTM tell, until recently when the servers opened up.

I got maybe 1 a night now or every other night. I just ignore it /blist. No big deal.

I've never deactivated my account but the game is still a turn off based on how it was a long time ago. I loved the competition because being number one feels great and that type of achievement I am sure in today's environment is not easily accessible. I am sure the quality of players is also no longer there anymore. I could be wrong.
