Going to Reno for the Weekend

I haven't been up to Reno in about 25 years, so outside of gambling, anything exciting to go check out? Only have two days and have to cram visiting the wedding venue in tahoe, Fiance's hair/makeup trial, and cake tasting in, but not planning on getting much sleep anyways. Bout the only other thing we have planned (fiance's maid of honor is also coming) is to hit up the poor boy's slots and maybe some blackjack.

Should ask for a threeway, only after you've put enough alcohol/roofies in their system.

I would say Virginia City is really fun to visit if you haven't been there. Virginia City is really historic it also has a lot of nice shops. They also have train rides and mine tours. If you are into hiking there are lots of great hiking trails. Washoe Valley has some really nice parks at the south end near Washoe Lake.

Lake Tahoe of course is a given, Crystal Bay is really nice right now you can kayak or paddle board.

Truckee river is nice as well if you are into kayaking you can kayak through the middle of town.

There are also some really nice hiking trails up the MT. Rose highway just over on the Tahoe side of the mountain there is a meadow on the left hand side (going towards Tahoe) that has some really beautiful trails.

Really it depends on what you like and what you want to do. In town there are good coffee shops and places to hang out down town. Some nice restaurants right next to the river like the Silver Peak Brewery.

The Knitting Factory might be having a good concert when you are here, that is a great venue for shows.

The Grand Sierra Hotel has their giant swing thing outside as well as Go-Karts and a driving range that goes into a lake. They also have bowling and movies inside.

If you drive over the hill to Northstar resort they do summertime ski lift rides up the mountain and have hiking/mountain biking as well as countless other summertime activities.

What do you like to do? What sort of things would you be into doing?

Really depends on time. I know early afternoon Friday and Saturday we booked, so it's pretty much evening entertainment only unless we get lucky. Emerald Bay is going to be our first stop since that's where our venue is at, and I know the cake place is up near there as well for the tasting. And that evening we are having dinner where our reception is going to be to sample the food. And I have no idea how long that's going to take. Then Sat is the hair/makeup trial where I get to be bored to tears lol

You should check out Swallows, a family-style restaurant by day and an anything-goes, pan-sexual bazaar by night. I hear its as big of a deal in Reno as the Gothic Castle is in LA.

Oh that is cool what venue is the wedding at?

For nighttime entertainment I would definitely check out the knitting factory see if any good shows are playing. Also like I said downtown by the river at night some of the restaurants are nice.

Also the Legends at the Sparks Marina is a nice shopping area and sometimes they have cool stuff going on at night.

Oh yeah I know that. I was asking if you are having it at a private house, hotel, ect. I wanted to know what venue, unless you are having it outside at Emerald Bay which would make sense.

It's outside on the cliffs. I don't remember the specifics as I left that to my Fiance. Lazines ftmfw. It's going to be a quickie, 15-20 minutes then after that we are hitting a resteraunt then back to our suite for the after party. Much cheaper then the huge party we were planning for the middle of next year that we just realized we can't afford, so saving that one for the 5 year.
