I bet you support all this RealID bullshit too at least until somebody comes to your house and rapes your entire fucking family then we'll see how much you like it keep being a blind sheep follower have faith in the system that constantly screws you over
that depends on the whole parent issue. it is legal for parents to buy the game for their kids, but never authorized to have their names (the parents) displayed. IF parents throw a big stink about it, it's something that can be changed. It's definitely something that'll probably happen after the change, if it happens at all.
People will just flock to the other community sites where they can maintain their anonymity if they really have a problem with it. I'm not particularly keen on it overall but I never use the oboards since they're such a cesspool anyway.
RealID itself is rather ingenious, though has its limitations; why you can't assign a handle to people's realid so you don't have to see their full proper name every time you open a chat box with them is slightly beyond me.
The authenticator is an insurance policy, a stopgap. It's not meant to be foolproof (though it is in about 95% of cases), and it doesn't prevent stupidity. You're a moron if you think it's useless.
Actually my friend bought one of those USB code generator.. things. Worked for him.
You're joking right? I've known more people that got hacked with the authenticator than people that got hacked normally. And how do you explain people getting hacked when they only use their computer for WoW and they don't even visit any websites? It's pretty fucking obvious that it's an inside job
Nah, someone is probably just too embarrassed to say they clicked on some shit they shouldn't have and got their junk keylogged or something. My friend got hacked twice before he got his authenticator. Never happened afterward.
Maybe some people just don't know how to properly use anti-virus software or something. Usin' the windows firewall as their only line of defense or some shit.
stop playing mmos
Stop getting high all the time
The first posters I read were parents pissed off about realid and worried about their kids having friend's lists being stalked by e-pedos and whether or not the default setting was to show id or not/friends of friends.
Most of the later posts were asking to make the "friends of friends" shit optional.
@Ksandra , wholly shit that thread is at 800 pages now..
for those that do have authenticators and battle.net accounts already (required to have battle.net), I don't think you're allowed to change your names put into the profile. So I'd think that would only work on new accounts.
You're right about the ToS thing but it still sounds iffy since the person who would click the ToS would be the kid not the parent. Which is why I hope the parents throw a big stink about it so they change it.
They have no ground to stand on if they've accepted the updated ToS though. They can bitch about it all they like.
