    People use right-click?

Middle-Click ftw. Control-Click (Cmd on OSX) for those on laptops.

[EDIT] Looks like beta 3 (possibly beta 2 also, wasn't paying attention much) broke the 'display as it loads' for images.

Hardware acceleration added into Beta 4 now, along with Sync (for bookmarks, passwords, etc between computers) and some other goodies.

On my M11x, Hardware acceleration makes a huge difference, it feels 20 times faster then Beta 3, but it's not enabled by default.

    To turn it on

To turn on Direct2D: Go in to about:config and set mozilla.widget.render-mode to 6, and gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled to true.

To turn off Direct2D, once it is on by default, set mozilla.widget.render-mode to 0.

To check whether you are running with Direct2D, go to about:support [in the address bar] and look at the bottom.
Restart Firefox after making the tweaks and you're good to go on hardware acceleration.

Still runs like shit on OSX, along with the input problem on Flash being prevalent. ;/

Such a bloody step backwards for every OS but Windows. Even Firefox3.5 was a lot more stable in its various beta/RCs on OSX.

Doesn't work that well when your entire tab bar is full. :3

Another bump for the Direct2D hardware acceleration. Images and video look noticeably crisper and the visual loading performance gets a boost. If, like me, you found your fonts to look a little strange after enabling hardware acceleration, try changing this setting in about:config to true and restart.

Anyone using hardware acceleration notice weird shit with flash videos? Went to youtube thread to show what I meant. The bar at the bottom doesn't show at all till I hover over it and it's still fucked up.

Can you even fill up the tab bar? it starts scrolling after you hit the minimum size on them. I've had 60 tabs open once in a single window and not a problem. Don't see why it'd be an issue on a laptop.

At work I pretty much have to have 15+ open just for all the web based shit I'm required to be logged into, and another +10 just for my own personal browsing.

60 tabs? You better have been looking at porn or something otherwise you straight suck at the internet.

How does more tabs make you bad at the internet? What if there's just a lot of stuff you want to read >_>

I have probably 12 or so tabs open "static" and can sometimes branch out from there in three or four directions per page...that's some serious exponential growth if the secondary pages have interesting links on them as well. I never close the original tabs until I'm done with the "stream" of how I got to the information.

I still get a crash the odd time, made more prominent if I have more than once instance of Flash occuring at a given time across multiple tabs. Nothing a refresh and wasting additional bandwidth to reload don't fix.

Sorry if it was mentioned earlier, I don't feel like reading though the whole thread atm.

I'm still not seeing a bar at the top with like minimize/exit/restore buttons on the top right. It really really annoys me and with the reported issue of saved passwords not working if you downgrade, I don't want go to back down now. Anyone know anything about it? the symptom dissapeared from the known issues list so I hoped it was gone, but I still have no window bar on the top :/

Edit: nvm found an option that wasn't working last time I tried. disregard this.

I'd recommend against updating the OSX version to beta 5. There seems to be a memory/processing leak in it. I'm just sitting here with Firefox idling at 500mb RAM used (two tabs open, no Flash or load of images showing), and 50% CPU being used 24/7 with nothing going on.

Also, as usual, Flash performance is still butchered and not accepting keyboard input on OSX. Not sure why they can't fix that still. Safari's Flash performance is basically laughing at Firefox's.
