    Western Digital TV Live plus

Anyone here own or have used a WD TV Live Plus?

Currently I just stream most of my movies through my ps3, but this looks like a nice option and will let me play my ps3 while watching movie/netflix/whatever.

Can also hook up an external HD with all my movies on it, so won't have to always have the computer up and running on the network.

Here's the PDF also, for anyone interested.

Any feedback about this would be appreciated, thanks.

I used to stream movies through ps3 as well, but never went back to it after buying the WD TV Live.

It reads all file formats that I throw at it so far, including mkv. It also has the subtitle options if you have the sub file,(subs are included most 720/1080p .mkv movies). Easy to hook up. Friendly User interface. + it uses less power than ps3! It's a neat piece of hardware.

    I have it and a PS3. I'll give a quick overview.

If you keep your movies orginized on your external harddrives it'll be easy to find the videos using the folder view, using the "view all" takes forever (which should be a given). The remote is ULTRA ANNOYING. If you lose it you lose your ability to power it on and off and to view movies (can you hook a keyboard up to it?). It comes with a compentient and av hook up and has a HDMI port (which I use). Be warned now, the FF and RW is terrible! Worse than DVR boxes!

Overall, I'm ok with it, it was a gift. It's a nice option to have, I currently have it in the bedroom since the PS3 is in the living room.

Oh it's also neat to watch porn with.
