Glad someone finally answered his question, If you're looking forward to Gears 3, Halo Reach or Fable 3, which are the only three announced exclusives for the 360 for the next 9 months, I'd say keep the xbox and give up the wii.
If you dont care for any of these, just give up the xbox.
Yes I am discrediting shitty Kinect stuff.
There are a good handful, but he only asked for 360 exclusives?
I wasn't being snarky, I don't follow the Wii at all. It was a legitimate question.
This might sound douchy, but why not tell your mom to buy her own dang system to watch NetFlix on? Unless she bought you those consoles to begin with....
But to answer your question.
Metroid, Arc Rise of Fantasia, Zelda(maybe), Epic Mickey(looks ok), The Conduit 2, NBA Jam, Kirby.
No sort of date for Donkey Kong yet.
Actually most of the PS3's biggest titles are new properties made in this gen, the only real sequels/nostalgia games are MGS4, GoW3, GT5 and the new Twisted Metal.
Wouldn't it be best to give her a PC she can hook up to her TV if all she wants is Netflix? I mean, while I personally think the Xbox would be the best one to get rid of, it's also the worst system to use as just a "Netflix box" since you have to pay for gold on top of your Netflix account. However giving up the Wii means you'll lose out on whatever exclusives they have coming down the pipe (I only know of the Metroid game, otherwise I don't care about the Wii) and it can be a fun little party system with friends.
Maybe she should just buy her own Wii to use for Netflix...unless she bought you your Wii, which would then make it her Wii which would then mean you should just cough it up.
Get rid of the trash (Wii). This isn't even close.
if you hack the wii (or at least plan to play the exclusives on it) then get rid of the 360, a large number of the big releases come out for both 360/ps3 so there's some redundancy there, whereas wii exclusives tend to be only for wii.
And I'm not sure what all the hate is for, there are quite a few excellent third party wii games (excluding monster hunter) that are already out or coming out in the next year. Most of the good Wii games aren't sequels/nostalgia, and for the most part anything worth playing won't have motion controls or they won't feel gimmicky (and many have multiple control options). I can provide a list of stuff if you really want.
Granted, I probably would keep all 3 and just get her the $8.99 netflix subscription that lets her have 1 disc out at a time and watch unlimited movies on the computer, but that's just me.
give up the wii
Hmmm :3
Not sure what Netflix has to do with it, but I'd get rid of the Wii if I were you.
Can also look at it this way: Which do you like better, the new black wii, or the new trimmer black 360?
Why give up one at all, Is your mom incapable of using Netflix on a PC? Theres no reason to get rid of anything at all.
the wii, almost no matter what game will force you at some point you use the darn motion controls. It really gets to me. I liked the SMB game that came out >.> but at times I forgot it was the wii and got myself killed because I forgot that I had to wave the magic stick to do something lol.
Maybe I am a nub and there was a way to change the layout to not force me to do that? Atreidea you make it sound like that?
If so I will take my words back and say keep the wii. But The crap they seem(and I could be wrong im wait for a real answer) to force 3rd pt's to do just gets to me. I just hope Sony/xbox do not go down that road and force everyone to make something for their motion sticks.
I meant a bunch of good games don't even use motion controls at all- Little King's Story, Rune Factory, Muramasa, Monster Hunter, etc. all of which (except LKS) incidentally support multiple controller schemes. A lot of the games that are worth playing that DO use motion controls merely use them for pointing, which usually doesn't feel gimmicky especially if it's a shooting game like Sin & Punishment 2/Resident Evil 4 Wii edition, or a light gun game like Dead Space Extraction. In fact, S&P has the option of using multiple control inputs, but it's nearly impossible to come close to the highest scores on the online leaderboards without the wiimote.
There are definitely some wii games that use motion controls too, but I guess the point is that how gimmicky motion controls feel is largely up to the developer.
Here is a list of good/great 3rd party wii games, in case anyone cares:
Spoiler: show
And that's not even including first party games. People who think the wii has nothing worth playing haven't played wii enough lol
