I suggest people go watch some of the other Bond movies and read the novels.
Moneypenny and Bond NEVER hook up and never will. The second they do is the second you know you're watching the last Bond movie.

Connery's best:
From Russia w/Love
Goldfinger
Connery's worst:
Diamonds are Forever (Connery phones in Bond)
Never Say Never Again (terrible Thunderball retread)
Lazenby:
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (A must see.)
Moore's best:
The Spy Who Loved Me
For Your eyes Only
Moore's worst:
Moonraker (I know this was to cash in on spaaaaace but jfc its lame)
A View to a Kill (the only thing this movie has going for it is Walken and Grace Jones)
Dalton's two Bond movies have very different tones but both are solid entries. If you liked Craig, Dalton is the prototype for his Bond portrayal.
It's both simple and complex. People just see the simple fact that they will never hook up and fuck. But the dynamic is much deeper than that. Monneypenny is the only woman who has ever fully understood Bond in any of the movies, and the few novel portrayals in which they have romantic affections for each other. At the same time, she's too into supporting M as his/her secretary as well as too evasive of 007's womanizing tendencies to ever get anything started with him.
Pretty much.
You guys are trying way to hard to romanticize and complicate it. Moneypenny is just genre savvy enough to know that most of the women Bond sleeps with end up dead. Even when that doesn't happen, best case, he leaves them shortly after anyway. On the flip side, I always saw Bond as in too much of a hurry to get his M briefing on the crisis of the day to successfully nab her, but always had a few minutes to spare to tease her for the lulz.
Sho wins the day
Dalton's bonds are pretty good, but compared to a brosnan/moore bond they are a completely different movie.
I dont even know that I would place brosnan and moore on the same playing field either. While Brosnan's Bond had a bit more "cheekiness" than either Dalton or Craig's, Moore's bond was so firmly imbedded into the 70s/80s level of camp that some of them are incredibly hard to watch with a straight face (Moonraker being the biggest example). Moore's movies did have a tendency to get better towards the middle of his run though. I am still a huge fan of For Your Eyes Only. I still prefer early Connery or Brosnan though. Craig is nice but he lacks a little something with the "comic" part of Bond that they only started to get in Skyfall.
On a different note, that Olivia gif is mesmerizing...
Great movie! Exotic locations, great dialogue, some crazy fight scenes and story line kept me interested the entire time. Craig isn't as smooth as Connery, but more believable then Brosnan. Moore was just cheezy in a good way. Dalton was great as a spy, but he wasn't very slick or entertaining. Craig brings a mixture of all the bonds.
Not even 30 seconds and action gets going. Love it.
