It's nice to see a few people in thread actually know what the fuck when it comes to Bond. Moore was an overall terrible Bond, he had a couple of movies that were decent, but his portrayal was just bad. Brosnan got screwed by just having bad films to work with although I enjoyed his portrayal. Dalton/Lazenby were awesome in their respective films, and they are easily some of my favorites along with the new Daniel Craig films.

Damn, if MGM goes under what will happen to the franchise... I can see it now a romcom, "James Bond takes a new and exciting direction. He's not just a 007 agent anymore, he is a single father trying to raise his children in Compton." He will also have a new love interest, that blonde chick from knocked up w/e the fuck her name is. Can't wait to see them getting into all kinds of wacky situations here. This shit's got potential.

I never quite liked him because it felt like he portayed bond more as a hitman then a secret agent. I mean, shit the intro to his first gig was a plain hitjob.

That's why I liked Dalton's portrayals actually because 007 is a hitman, he just happens to be a hitman for MI6.

Moores goofy Bond came off as awkward at times because he'd go from slapstick comedy to brutally killing a man and then right into a one-liner. With Dalton you had a serious Bond with elements of humor tossed in while maintaining that atmosphere that this guy is an assassin. I guess it helps that LTK was pretty dark and TLD had a realistic villain as well.

Brosnan had the right idea when he started in GE but it really is too bad that the sophomoric humor written into his movies ruined his adjustment into the role. I think he had the suave down best of the Bonds.

I don't recall the intro to TLD but Bond definitely killed in cold blood in the books. He's a tool of the government and sometimes shit isn't about finding a supervillian in an underground lair to take out.

Surprising how often people overlook that, but yea, while QoS was kinda shaky, I was really liking Craigs Bond.

Wasn't the intro in TLD the whole thing training shit go wrong in which case he was right to kill an assassin trying to kill him in cold blood? in TLD also has the first encounter w/ the defector in Prague where Bond's behavior there not pulling the trigger on the chick is him NOT being coldblooded if anything(he didn't get truly coldblooded until License to Kill and rightfully so, niggas maimed Felix)... But as I said, Dalton played the same ruthless/calculating Bond Craig plays and thats in the books that was just ahead of its time and that suffered from looking particularly brutal because it followed Moore's slapstick nonsense, but really its what the franchise needed to save it from Moonraker and all of Moore's other nonsense.

Also nigga plz at Brosnan being the most suave Bond, Connery wins that award by a fucking mile.

Im not saying bond doesnt kill in cold blood or the fact that he IS a hitman, I just liked him more as a spy. Which might be because I started watching bond when moore did him thus being my guideline. Connery took over the role of best bond after I started watching the old ones (my dad watched bond religiously from #1).

and Ill chime in with george lazenby being a really good bond, even tho that flick felt like it was all over the place. mixing regular bond-spy-stuff with some attempt at drama/love story at the same time. The part with her walking out into the ocean and him chasing after her felt more like some retarded commercial for old spice or something :3

yeah I was wrong about the intro of TLD, I meant ofcourse the part with him supposed to take out the defectors gf

Brosnan in Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies was great. Both were excellent movies.

Thought this might be interesting to post:

Christopher Nolan Says He’d Love to Do a Bond Film
    http://media2.slashfilm.com/slashfil...91774small.jpg

We don’t usually seriously report on the wish-fulfillment stories where a director or actor says they would like to do some mythical project. As it turns out, it almost never happens and is not much more than a cool headline with little substance. And yes, this is one of those stories, but when a filmmaker like Christopher Nolan comments that he’d be interested in doing so and so film — there is a bit more weight to the statement.

You see, Nolan is very particular about the projects he chooses. Also, he is a director with great power. After Dark Knight, he probably could have had anything he ever wanted — any project in development anywhere. He chose Inception, an original project that he’s been developing for nearly a decade. And yes, he’s set to go into production on the third film in his Batman series. But what about after that? How about a James Bond film?

Nolan has been commenting a lot recently about James Bond, as Inception is certainly influenced by the series. Speaking before last night’s London premiere of the film, Nolan admitted that not only would he be interested in doing a Bond movie, he’d “love” to do one.

    Nolan told the BBC:

“I’ve loved the Bond films since I was a kid. For me, they’re always about the expansiveness of cinema. The first Bond films set up infinite possibilities about the world they create. I’d love to do a Bond film.”

With MGM in limbo, recently it was rumored that the twenty-third Bond film had been canned. That was not actually the case, as some reports claim that Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig still plan to come back to Bond once MGM’s situation is resolved. Who knows when and if that will happen.

I’ll say this much, if I were an executive at Warner Bros, I would place a call to Nolan and ask him just how interested he is in directing a Bond movie. I’m not even going to pretend to understand the complexities of the legal purgatory presented by MGM’s current situation, but I’m sure there is a way to make it happen. And at this point, Warner Bros is in the Chris Nolan business. I ‘imagine that the goal is to extend their relationship as long term as they possibly can.

The hell? I hated the newer bond movies after Goldeneye. I thought Moonraker was campy, but I loved License to Kill, Goldfinger, From Russia with Love, and The Living Daylights.

My girlfriend and I both loved Connery as Bond, with Moore being the least favorite.

    I basically go Connery > Dalton > Lazenby > Brosnan > Craig > Moore.

I loved Brosnan's personality as I felt it was closer to how Bond would act, but it had too much innuendo. Craig fit Bond as the old school actors did, but his movies lacked the feeling of the older Bond flicks. Moore, well... Moonraker. Jaws. Nuff said.

Dalton was perfect but I have no idea why they replaced him with Brosnan or if he backed out. He brought sincerity to the role. Lazenby, well, he's original.

Sean Fucking Connery was easily the best, barring his accent, of all movies just because none of his movies relied too heavily on effects and bewm-bewms. Just brains. I thought that was what Bond was about.

I'm interested to see where this goes and I hope they don't just quit doing Bond movies altogether.

Lazenby was an awful Bond, and at certain times I felt myself liking Moore better than Connery. Connery's best moments were in Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice. Moore felt a little too stiff in Live and Let Die, but by the end of Golden Gun I got a real feel for his version of stick-up-my-ass British gentleman Bond over Connery's playboy.

Dalton was ok, I felt like he was channeling Connery a bit though. If you're gonna ding Craigs Bond for the direction the movies went then you should ding Brosnan as everything between GoldenEye and Die Another Day was utter crap, with the last one being marginally good because of the grittiness of the beginning.

Craigs Bond is brilliant, he captures Flemings bond in so many more of the uncomfortable and unsavory aspects of his brutal nature and complete blasé to violence and the lengths to which he has to go to complete the mission. I love the direction of the new Bond because of the contrast to the former Bonds where he was just sexist for kicks and a dashing rogue and not a very complex character.

If I had to rate bonds, I'd say it's Craig > Connery /= Moore > Brosnan > Dalton > Lazenby

    Spoiler: show
And yes I am a hetero man that would suck Craigs dick, don't hold that against me.
    Spoiler: show
Well hold it against me, but not aganst my argument
