edit: Goldeneye was ok everyone just has nostalgia goggles since he was our generations first Bond and we all grew up playing the N64 game. Tomorrow Never Dies was probably 5-10 years ahead of its time (it's aged remarkably better than any Bond though imo with regards to plot, villain and gadgets). But overall, Brosnan while a decent Bond, got stuck with absolutely shit movies. The only good things about TWINE/DAD was John Cleese as the new Q, and their shittiness destroyed anything good Goldeneye/TND had created.
Long live the Dalton flicks. The Living Daylights is awesome.

I'll agree that Brosnan got stuck with some bad movies (TWINE/DAD) and that's part of why I wont rush to say that Craig is the better Bond yet. They both had two good movies and while I expect Craig to fully surpass Brosnan given the new direction of the movies, you just never know.

DAD reached levels of cheese not seen since the era of Roger Moore. While I liked him in LALD and TMWGG, Moonraker and AVTAK are /groan. Christopher Walken is the only reason AVTAK is worth the watch as it's terrible otherwise.

That was the point as he wasn't the James Bond we were all familiar with yet.

Prone to mistakes, truly falling for the girl, getting his ass kicked and setting the stage for the adventures to come is what made Casino Royale great.

Who the hell puts Dalton as top tier bond? Best is Connery. Then Craig. Roger Moore is 3rd, and only third because the bond movies he was in had amazing memorable support cast. Either way, i'm glad a new movie is finally in the works.

Dalton was a total Boss as Bond, The Living Daylights and License to Kill are fucking awesome.

    Bond Tiers work like this.

    God Tier
Connery since he was the Original.

    Excellent Tier
    Craig
Dalton (it's hard to say which one I like better but it will most likely end up being Craig since he'll get more than 2 movies)

    Good Tier
Brosnan (would be excellent tier if TWINE and DAD weren't terrible)
    Lazenby

    Shit Tier
    Moore

Yeah that's right, Lazenby is a better Bond than Moore.

    Connery > Moore > Craig/Bosnan >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dalton > Laz

Unfortunate Dalton and Laz were terrible, they had good Bond stories to work with.

Fucking cosigning this. Moore's movies are as fucking cheesy as an Austin Powers flick; Live and Let Die was pretty much all I could handle from him. I mean for fucks sake Moore had them rework the movies/story to minimize violent acts on his part b/c he is against it. That is not James Bond, that's some fucking beta male pussy shit.

Roger Moore is worst Bond; DILL WITH IT. And imo Dalton is still a notch above Craig b/c his take on the role lays the foundation for alot of what Craig has done.

I agree. Everyone bitched about Quantum being boring, so my boyfriend wouldn't go with me to see it in the theater. I recorded it later on when it finally hit the HBO/Showtime channels and enjoyed it I love Daniel Craig.

Bond 23 will be co-financed and distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. The studio reached an agreement with MGM, and announced today by MGM Co-Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum and Sony Pictures Chairman and CEO Michael Lynton and Co-Chairman Amy Pascal. The next film in the franchise is set for release on November 9, 2012 all over the world except for select International territories, where MGM will directly oversee distribution. The two studios revealed that they plan to do the same with Bond 24.

MGM and Sony Pictures also agreed to explore co-financing opportunities on more films produced by each of the respective studios over the next five years. The studios have been collaborating lately on films, including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, 21, Yours, Mine and Ours, The Pink Panther, and the upcoming Kevin James comedy Zookeeper.

The agreement on Bond 23 adds another high-profile title to Sony’s 2012 slate, which also includes Men in Black III and The Amazing Spider-Man, as well as I Hate You, Dad, starring Adam Sandler, Here Comes the Boom, starring Kevin James, 21 Jump Street, Resident Evil 5 and Total Recall.

Here is what Barber and Birnbaum had to say:

"Sony Pictures is the ideal studio partner for us as MGM re-enters the filmmaking business. We have longstanding relationships with Michael and Amy and look forward to what promises to be a prosperous future together."
    Lynton went on to say:

"In addition to working together on Bond, this deal expands our relationship with MGM as we explore co-financing opportunities on other high-profile projects. Gary and Roger are incredibly thoughtful and experienced leaders who are outstanding creative executives and respected moviemakers. While we are excited to be back in the Bond business, we also look forward to future collaborations and I am confident that this agreement will be long-term, lucrative, and beneficial to both studios."
Here is an excerpt from Pascal's statement:

"After successfully working on the re-launch of the James Bond franchise with 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum of Solace,' we could not be more proud or privileged to continue our association with Barbara Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson, Daniel Craig, and the talented teams at EON and MGM."
This deal has lot's of potential to bring in some big box office dollars. Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace had record-high grosses for the Bond franchise, with Casino Royale taking in $599 million in worldwide ticket sales and Quantum of Solace generating $577 million.

I find it interesting that there is no mention of Sam Mendes, who has been attached to direct Bond 23 for a while. I wonder if this means Mendes is out?

According to The Telegraph director Sam Medes has cast Rhys Ifans in Bond 23, which is scheduled to start shooting next month. According to a inside source, “Ifans will appear in the film, as well as Javier Bardem, who will play the baddie. Much of the filming will take place in South Africa.”

Ifans will join Daniel Craig who will be making his third appearance as James Bond, Judi Dench will once again play M, and Naomie Harris will be taking on the role of Miss Moneypenny. Ralph Fiennes will also have a role in the film as well.

Ifans is a solidly good actor who is also playing The Lizard in the new Amazing Spider-Man film currently in production. He's probably most famous for his role in Notting Hill.

James Bond is back in action on the set of Skyfall, but the casting announcements have not ended. The film's official Twitter feed announced that Helen McCrory and Ola Rapace are now attached in undisclosed roles.

McCrory is well known to Harry Potter fans, she played Narcissa Malfoy in the franchise. She will be seen next in Martin Scorsese's Hugo. Rapace is best known in Swedish cinema and is the former husband of actress Noomi Rapace.

They join Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw. Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. Skyfall arrives in theaters on November 9, 2012.

British actor Ben Whishaw has been cast as Q in the new Bond film Skyfall, his agent has confirmed.

The role of 007's gadget designer was played by Desmond Llewelyn in From Russia With Love and most recently by John Cleese, opposite Pierce Brosnan, in 2002's Die Another Day.

At the age of 31, Whishaw is 12 years younger than Bond actor Daniel Craig, a first for the Q character.

Whishaw recently starred in the BBC's 1950s news drama The Hour.

He is due to play Richard II in a new BBC Shakespeare adaptation which is part of next year's cultural programming to coincide with the Olympics.

The actor played Ariel in Julie Taymor's recent film adaptation of The Tempest opposite Dame Helen Mirren.

His other credits include Criminal Justice, Brideshead Revisited and the literary big screen adaptation of Perfume.

Q is the head of Branch Q, the fictional armoury division of the secret service. He appeared briefly in the first Bond film Dr No in 1962 under his real name Major Boothroyd, played by actor Peter Burton.

His next appearance was in 1963 in From Russia With Love, played by Welsh actor Llewelyn, who played the role in every subsequent Bond film, except Live And Let Die, until his death in 1999.

The character returned just once in 2002, played by former Python Cleese.

As well as Craig returning as 007 in his third outing, British actors Naomie Harris and Albert Finney will join him in the 23rd Bond film, due out next year.

Oscar-winning Spanish actor Javier Bardem has been cast as Skyfall's main villain.

Not that I'm not looking forward to this but make the names of people and places interchangeable and you have the plot for every bond movie ever. O.o

I grew up watching the Bond series. I was a sickly child and it always seemed to be on TBS when I would be home from school with an ailment. Connery is still the best. I love how he practically rapes all the women lol. I would have to say Dalton is number two. Craig is three. Brosnan and Moore are tied for fourth. And poor Georgie boy falls to number five.

I'm a big Dalton fan but Connery's 007 entries range from really good (FRWL, GF, TB) to 'kill it with fire' with YOYT, DAF and NSNA.

I see Craig in a similar position to Brosnan right now. Casino Royale was an amazing entry to launch with (like Brosnan with Goldeneye) but Quantum was weak and he could go either way. Here's to hoping Skyfall puts out and secures Craig as a superior Bond to Moore or Brosnan.

Truth be told I would watch any 007 movie. I love them all. Even if some of them are terribad lol. I was lucky enough to get the set last year on Black Friday. My wife had never seen Sean Connery as Bond. Or Roger Moore. I almost divorced her.
