well, I haven't played Awakening yet, so I didn't know they forced you to do the Ritual in that one tbh. I've yet to complete DA1, I've been playing through it in preparation for DA2 <.<;

I'm doing the same thing and just completed DA1. What a great game. I'll tell ya, anybody who had a bad thing to say about DA1's graphics hasn't been playing ffxi for the last few years straight like I have, cause they really seemed pretty damn good. I seriously wish I could go back in time to the moment I installed ffxi and just punch myself in the fucking face. So much wasted time, with games like DA1 out there where you can save whenever you want and go actually live your life, and a sequel otw...

Anders has left the Wardens and is working healing refugees in Kirkwall. As he meets Hawke, they head off to rescue a friend of Anders from the Templars. Upon arriving, they discover the friend has been made Tranquil and Anders goes off with blazing eyes and booming voice – he’s now inhabited by a Spirit of Justice.

Whether it is the Justice from Awakening or just another spirit is not defined. But it would explain how he could be back no matter your Awakening circumstances. Whether he lived or died, the Spirit is now inside of him and perhaps sustaining him, as it did to Wynne.

So yes, it appears that he’s back and maybe better than ever. And, hopefully, he’s lost that cat along the way so we don’t have to hear about it anymore…

Very doubtful. I've played almost every Bioware game, and it's usually 2+

In DA2 female wise there is Cassandra, Aveline, & Merrill. And your sister. The last one would be kinda weird I think. Like if you romanced Imoen in BGII, lol. I'm sure there will be at least 2. Anders & Varric will probably be the male options. Maybe that elf too. Even though I usually always go the male pc route, Anders might be interesting to check out with him fighting Justice's Spirit.
