I'm sure this game is going to be above average. Not groundbreaking, but I think I'll get enjoyment over it. But, for example, the facebook thing. That just seems like they are trying to cater to the casual weekend warrior crowd. Commercials are fine, even the demo contest I can get behind. But this is over-saturation.

EA marketing is relentless. Unlimited funds helps too, I suppose.

I can do with or without FF, like miz said just set the difficulty. But the whole "one city over 10 years" versus many different locations thing, plus the shorter playtime has got me worried. I hope they didn't Halo 2 this shit...

I think I'm starting to realize that origins might have been one of a kind. Hopefully if 2 is a let down, they can keep the series going long enough to hit their stride.

Shorter doesnt mean bad. Just depends on how good / engaging the story is. I hope its more immersive then DA:O though... and while I don't put a lot of thought into net reviews, I guess the game isnt a 9.0+ from IGN or it would alrdy be up

I know I got bored in a lot of points. the Magi tower was one place that was excruciatingly boring to get through. I also rushed through the Dalish Elf portion up until the werewolf dungeon. Though that could be because I didn't give a fuck about the elfs. They gloat about how great they are and how stupid all the other races are, but then complain that everyone hates them. I enjoyed killing them all off

There is an embargo on the reviews, pretty sure most places wont get their review copy until thursday/friday and GDC is going on anyway, so not like people would have time to play it.

They said a long time ago that the DA:O toolset works and there won't be a new one since it's the same. That's why the mods for the demo are out already.

I'm dropping PC this time for the PS3 one because of how they tried to blend the design toward gamepad, but I am still doubtfull. Any opinion?

PC version always. Mods tip the scale greatly, besides, if there's gamepad support on PC there's little reason not to get it (unless your PC sucks balls).

bigger screen (i.e. TV), better sound (i.e. 7.1 for my TV), ect... is why I'm getting PS3. My comp is a beast, but 50 inch > 24 inch.. Comfy Couch > Comfy Chair
