My TV is a monitor as well (though it isn't 50 inches, you can easily use that as a monitor like my friend does). Which also covers the sound thing.

    Couch I'll give you though.

Would the resolution be as good if I ran it through my TV? My comp is good, but no way could it output max res on a 50 inch TV w/o having issues >.>

Dunno if it's been brought up yet, but just saw "the Exiled Prince" DLC...

Can't believe they already worked on/finished(?) that shit before a game is released...

BS nowadays gives them a reason to not release the game to the fullest anymore -.-a

Sure you could if you pre-ordered the signature edition, that is a bonus they made for early adopters of the signature edition.

If your TV is 1080p then all you need to output to it is 1080p for it to look it's best. That'd be 1920x1080 resolution. Anything more or less would be scaled up/down. At least I'm pretty sure on that. Haven't used mine as a monitor, but don't see why you wouldn't use it's native resolution just because of a different input device.

Pretty much. I use a DVI to HDMI thing for my PC monitor, and resolution can go up to 1920x1080, which is beautiful stuff.

Same here for me as well as wanting to see it in DX11.

I'm not sure you realize how resolution works. If your PC monitor is 1080p and so is your HDTV, it's the same image. It will just look slightly sharper on the smaller monitor because the pixels are smaller.

Having played the PS3 and PC version of DA:O, I agree with the mods. Such simple mods made the game much less hassle for me, like the mod to put the storage chest in your party camp, and the ability to bash locks with a % chance of losing the items inside.

The only possible issue I can think of is that the PC version may not have a "10 foot" interface at that resolution (which is to say, designed to be viewed from a couch).

As mentioned, your TV is just a monitor with bigger pixels/space between pixels. It's no harder to run 1920x1080 on a 50" TV than it is on a 24" monitor. In both cases, the image that the PC is generating is 1920x1080 pixels. Newer graphics cards can output multi-channel audio over HDMI as well.

If you did run it at 1920x1080, then you'd get better resolution, not worse. Very few console games actually render at 1080p. Most are around 720p, and plenty are actually lower resolution than that. A list for PS3 n' 360.

The difference is that the monitor is optimized to view at a shorter distance than the TV is. In turn, PC games are often designed with that closer viewing in mind (or not, in the case of Bethesda products). I haven't tried DA:O on my TV to given an opinion, but I did find that (say) FFXI run at 1920x1080 on my 40" TV was not comfortably readable from back on the couch. Unreal Tournament 3 was no issue.

'course, much of that can be subjective, and obviously game-dependent. In some cases (FFXI for instance), you can just drop the resolution down, which likely still will look better than consoles due to more AA/etc.

So is all this hate for DA2 coming from somewhere, or are people just invoking hate out of their ass?
I am a bit worried about the game, but all the hate images and such I've seen all just seems like haters hating on Bioware for made-up reasons, or massively exaggerated reasons.

Was I the only one who enjoyed the Fade in DA:O? I'll admit it went on way too long, but I thought it was a fun little concept.

It wasn't bad (only played through it once), I just remember needing to do something and after every section I was like is it over yet? I can't quit until it's over!

Over at least the past month every major release title has had a release date or within a week of DLC.

My first playthrough, it took me something retardedly long like 4 hours. On my second, it was more like 45 minutes. If you aren't stupid (I was), I really don't see what was so bad about it either.
