edit: For whatever reason, I'm unable to get the console working, either through the shortcut or through the launch options in steam. Not exactly sure how I'm missing something but the console refuses to work for me.

Quick Tactics question:

Is it possible to set your companions on a target (ie: Enemy target of Hawke > Attack ) and then use sub-conditions for Skills (ie: Enemy is frozen, Smash it) ?

I noticed that doing so, specific conditions doesn't trigger at all since "Enemy target of Hawke" is always true and cockblocks them.

You should be able to do complex tactics, but I wasn't able to get anything very competent out of the demo. DA:O had mods that increased the number of tactics you could use.

You can use stuff like, Enemy Immobile > Pommel Strike, or Enemy Petrified > Whatever. Also stuff like enemy type: mage > winter's grasp/dispel and the like.

Dragon Age II live demo and Dev chat Saturday March 5

Hi Everyone

Dragon Age 2 is almost here, but in the time remaining we thought we would squeeze in one more live demo and developer chat. Mike Laidlaw had such a good time with the last one, he's coming back for one more go.

This time he'll be playing The Exiled Prince DLC to give everyone a look at the Day 1 DLC available for Dragon Age 2. He's also going to be showing off the character creator and your first look at some of the promo items available in game (and anythign else that takes Mike's fancy). And of course, we'll be holding a question and answer session after the demoing is all done.

This time, we will be holding both the demo and chat HERE. The demo and subsequent chat will start at 1PM PST (that is 1pm in Los Angeles, 2pm in Edmonton, 4pm in New York, 9pm London England, etc. You can work out when it will be where you live HERE)

When the demo begins, you will be able to create a user name and ask your questions (you can't do it yet, but you're welcome to go and look at a lovely test pattern till then).

We hope you'll join Mike (and me as your handy dandy moderator) for this last live demo and chat before Dragon Age II launches next week. See you there.

I'm like 50% done I think, no spoilers please but do they mention Duncan at all anymore? Seems like no one gives a fuck about him besides Alistair.. He was my favorite character besides Morrigan =/

No, not really. If you do the return to Ostregar DLC, you can find some of Duncan's gear and find a gift for Alistar which causes him to talk some more about Duncan.

Do tell me if the PC version gets leaked. Sweden don't get Dragon Age II until March 11th, and I need something to do until then, since I'm buying the game either way.

Doesn't just effect Bioware, effects the industry as a whole besides those parties involved in whatever particular title it may be. Taking money away from future games as well. But alas talking about piracy on this board is wasted on deaf ears anyway, reading the PS3 pirating thread alone proves this. Making up some silly ass reasons to justify stealing.

While I will agree with you 100% on this, I'm gonna be honest and say I have a jailbroken PS3. I really wish I had the money to buy all the games I wanted. I don't. There are certain companies I won't do it to. I don't find that to be justifying it, just my respect for the company.

Let me ask you and everyone something though. Let's say I didn't want to buy it new. I go and buy it used. That obviously affects the industry as well, as the only ones making the money here are Gamestop (and other places that sell used games.) But you are supporting the economy.

A second option is to buy it used on ebay/amazon/half. Same thing, in essence. Nobody is making money off that sale except the person selling the game. All parties involved creating the game see no income.

Thirdly, I can Gamefly/Copy/Torrent the game and again, that's probably just as bad if not worse than the other two. Sure, tons of copies are bought by GF, but how many losses are the developers seeing with this service?

Lastly you can pirate/copy it. This is obviously the worst option, but somewhat comparable to some of the other things. I'm by no means justifying pirating in any way, but still what option of those 3 is the best for the game industry? Obviously #3 is out by default. So #1 or #2?

Sure you can go and buy it new but let's be honest, not everyone is doing this. What is the right thing to do for the industry if you don't want to buy it new? There are some companies I will always buy new and never used. I can't buy everything and still want to play them.

I agree with you, and never download games. I, however, don't see how me downloading the game if I've already bought it would be stealing. I've already paid for the copy and intend to pick it up, so I'm somewhat confused as to how me downloading the game would be stealing.

Not really surprised there were leaks. I work at Target and we got DA2 in for all 3 systems like 4 days ago, so I'm sure just about every reteiler has some easily stealable copies lying around.
Now here's a question; would the makers of a game/movie rather people play/see a product and not see any money, or have people not see/play it and not get money from it?
I don't DL games, but I do for movies. However I buy all the movies I actually want to see and the rest of the movies are things I would have never even spent money on to rent.
I'm not using that as an excuse, I'm genuinely curious. Not that there are actually any game/movie creator peoples on the forum, but not that there isn't.

I'm probably buying this at bestbuy of all places because it's a block from my house, but at $60 a pop, I think stealing shit is totally understandable. It's fucking insane to me the prices of new games. These companies are borderline profiteering at this point with the economy like this, and although in a free market that's just the way the ball bounces, they deserve it when the average joe-blow gamer searches for a way to get their shit for free because they charge out the ass.
