ok so fucking bioware:

I didn't use my last save game from DA:Origins for Awakening, I went to a previous save and sold off all the shit in my party chest, and made sure my character had some powerful stuff that would carry over. So now, none of my Awakenings saves are flagged as having completed DA:O, so it's trying to set my game world to default choices.

So basically, as it stands I have to re-play the final boss of DA:O, and if I want my Awakenings choices to matter I have to replay the entirety of Awakenings as well.

Then again, I just installed all the DLC from disc 2 of the ultimate edition (which I returned to gamestop the next day for full credit) for free so if I want to be a completionist I'll run through Darkspawn Chronicles and Leliana's Song, then fix my party inventory/re-do the last dungeon/final boss of DA:O, then re-play Awakening, then play Golems of Amgarrak, then play Witch Hunt.... before I can even start DA2 >_>

So I went and picked up a regular copy of the game today from Gamestop and they had a Sig Edition left over someone didn't pick up. I asked him what the difference was and he said "Nothing other than the Sig Ed has some content you'll have to pay $6 for with the regular edition." I immediatly go wtf are you thinking Bioware. Why charge people who don't preorder your game extra for content when said content was clearly ready well in advance of the games release. Gamestop dude says its not Bioware its EA.

So yah. Fuck EA.

So, when does the option to import a save come up? I didn't see an option for it on the menu. I'm sitting at the character creation screen right now.

also related: on my 1st playthrough of Dragon Age Origins I completed everything just how I wanted it. 2nd playthrough I did the opposite, and 3rd playthrough I only used to finish up trophies and didnt even get more than half way through it.

when importing a save, do I get to choose what character I import from, or it just going to pick my last save?

It should be one of the options on the character creation screen. It will give you four choices, noble human mysteriously with Alistair as king, dalish elf martyred during the Archdemon fight with Alistair and Anora married I believe, and noble dwarf with Alistair exiled and Loghain dying against the Archdemon, or the option to import your save. It'll give you a list of characters you have save files for and you'll get to choose which one you want to use.

i do find it mildly humorous that if Dragon Age 2 were made by Obsidian, we would say shit like corrupted save files is proof that it's the worst game company ever, but when Bioware does it's just boys being boys and we'll swoon for them anyway lol

Did anyone who got werewolves during the first game do the quest requiring the 4 ingredients yet? Are they all on the mountain? I found 3 and for the life of me can't find the 4th one. And it's the only thing I have left to do before I move the main plot forward and don't want to continue yet just in case I can't go back to it

Cry moar. All you had to do was get off your ass with $5 and reserve it to get tons of free shit.

As for the game. There's plenty I like about 2 and then there's stuff that annoys the hell out of me. Feel free to spoiler since I may not be far enough, but can you really not equip any of your parties members with gear other than what they start with, nor can you specialize? I've picked up a decent amount of mage/warrior gear that I'm not sure if I should bother hanging on to or just sell it so I can finally get off this fucking 50 sovereign quest.
