what about the Black Emporium crafting materials? Should I buy the Spindleweed/Lyrium that popped up there just to be safe, or does that show up for everyone?
It shows up for me as well, I'm pretty sure if you buy those it counts towards the achievement/trophy. I think it has all the resources you've missed so far.
I'm unsure about that. I was missing a lot of materials on a run I made, and it only had 2spindleweed and 1 of something else. It maybe what you missed in just that single act you are in, but I haven't seen proof of that. Especially when I'm 3/4 through act 1 and there are no mats in there even though I'm still missing 3 for that act.
Black Emporium is dlc, and dlc never effects trophies for getting platinum trophy.
to clarify something, you will see the items that u missed on the next act. I dont know if black emporium gives the trophy since i wasted over 18hr trying to get the supplier trophy. At first i tried to reach the 3rd act w/o looking for craft items, on the 3rd act i bought all items from dlc that i missed on the 1st and 2nd and finished the one from 3rd and didnt get trophy. To my luck i had a save very early on act2 so all i did was look for the items and finally got the damn trophy.
anyone know how item tiers work? For example, I have the bow you give to Sebastian as a gift but since I'm level 15, I'm wondering if I should wait until I'm a higher level so I can get a 5-star bow instead of a 3-star, although I'm not sure how exactly this works.
Also is there a way to sell items to an NPC and rebuy them at their improved item tier like you could in DA:O?
Just finished the game... I give it a meh, game is a slap in the face to any purist. I had suspected Bioware was going in the wrong direction with this series and I was right.
Thanks for your so important review.
Ignore him. If you saw any of his posts in the FFXIV section you'd know that with this guy there's only one of two options...
Massive troll or Massive idiot. No matter which he is, he should simply be ignored.
On topic: Can you romance Isabella and merill in one play through? Ive been romancing isabella and took her to bed in act2, and I just did the same for merill after. Isabella then asked what was going on and wwhen I chose the heart option (isabella), she said don't let Merill know because she is a nice girl, blah blah blah... So.. does it work so you can keep em both as romance partners? I saved right before I hooked up w/ Merill just incase. But I like Merrill's new armor. Though, if i have to choose one I'll just do merill on my 2nd playthrough
Its casualplayer, what do you expect. Dude only trolls threads.. and I actually think he got temp banned for trolling this thread last time and yet he is at it again.. interesting
bet somebody he comes back in this thread and starts raging hard at everyone and making fun of their avatar, and everything else he can think of lol
What if I didn't really like the first of the series? I was kinda' turned off by the lack of respawns and being forced to repeatedly start from scratch to experience large quantities of game's story/classes/achievements/skills/spells/etc.
I heard that it's more of the same in that respect. Is this true? I still can't grind?
It's pretty much the same way, though the amount of playthroughs is considerably less. Once as a mage and once as a warrior and/or rogue is all you really need. So at most 3 playthroughs, one as each class, or 2 playthroughs to decide who you side with.
And in Origins, you only had to play through a short section to see each classes origin stories, you didn't need to play the whole game, because even when you return later on there isn't a whole lot to relate back to you.
DA2 is more of the same w/ some tweaks. It's really obvious to see where they cut corners, and I'd figure most ppl get bored of looking at the same scenery by the end of the game (since you visit each same location like 10x+, but it also has some really good to it such as combat and character interaction. It's more side quest heavy then the first, or at least it feels that way w/ how the game is broken up into 3 acts. I could honestly say its about 6 hours of story and the rest 15-20hrs+ is side quests. granted some of the sidequests are very good, but it feels like "SideQuest Age 2".
I like the game for what it is, but if you didn't like the first I don't think you would like the 2nd.
I think I did something around 45~50 quests in Act1 between the first major story point and the second. Still in Act2, but from what I hear, pretty much the whole game is like this.
I think more and more of the side quests wind up being tied back to the main story somehow as it progresses. Still, it's pretty much like the first game - if the first game took place entirely in Orzammar and like, two maps of the Deep Roads...
I've been doing the exact same thing in my playthrough. Isabella to bed in act 2, and in act 3 I was still able to get Merill to come live with me/romance her. After that, Isabella was asking me to come along on her ship, and i chose the option "What about Merill?", and that was pretty much the end of that.
Also, I suppose you get the romance trophy at the end of the game? (because I still haven't received it.)
