Garth Brooks - The Dance
It's what my parents danced to on their wedding.
Girlfriend and I, while not engaged, have narrowed it down to:
Taylor Swift - Love Story
Spoiler: show
Peter Gabriel - Book of Love
Spoiler: show
Alkaline Trio - Every Thug Needs a Lady <---song we first kissed to, I played it for her on the radio at my college radio station.

First of all congratulations and I wish you the best for your wedding and marriage.
Secondly, perhaps you both have some special moment songs that you remember together? I always thought that was the motivation behind most wedding's music choices for the major dancing moments.
Anyways make sure your wife has input with you, on the decision.
This thread makes me laugh. I was at a friends wedding yesterday, the DJ left the room and left the music on automatic. Next song up, shut your fucking face uncle fucker from southpark. Didn't go down too well lol.
Anyway my suggestion would be I Had The Time of My Life from the fill Dirty Dancing, not sure what the artist is called.
Actually, do Every Breath You Take by the Police. Nothing quite sets the mood for a long and happy marriage like a song about an obsessive stalker.
OP aren't you the same guy who posted here a few months ago cause your gf wanted to take time apart? Planning for marriage after that so quickly seems a little rash.
But anyway on to the topic, I remember Tyche said he played some FFX music for his wedding which when listening to it again actually sounds like an awesome idea. But really even with some musical differences there should be at least 1 song you 2 enjoyed together since you 2 have been going out for a long time(assuming its the same girl), that would probably be more appropriate unless it's something like Pony by Ginuwine.
Yup. I was the guy who came here a few months ago with the same girl. I know it seems cliche' but the seperation helped us. Both saw what we did wrong and what we needed to do to fix it. We got back together, and now getting married. So, as my first dance song I have narrowed down 7:
KC&Jojo- All my life
Heatwave- Always & Forever
Chris Brown- Forever
Marc Cohn - True Companion
Lonestar - Amazed
Savage Garden - Truly Madly Deely
Peter Gabrid - Book of love
She wants to walk down the isle with the Savage Garden song playing. Still taking suggestions though.
Bridal Party walked out to this (from the piano collections CD):
The bride walked out to a modified (slowed and a few other arrangement changes) version of this (some guy on BG actually had a friend mix it for me):
I got a lot of compliments on the wedding music. It will pay off to stray from canon in d and bridal march if you can find some good music.
If she's a big country fan, "Amazed" is a must-have. Almost all of those songs are played at almost every wedding here in the south. When we picked the music, we tried to pick music that would actually pique someone's interest and make the attendees go "what is this? It's great..."
First Dance was to: Dashboard Confessional: Stolen
Bridal Party dance: Snow Patrol: Chasing Cars
Unity Candle lighting song: The Fray: Look After you
Entrance songs posted above.
Also, you have to play Coldplay's "Yellow" at some point. The more important the point, the better. I think we exited the ceremony to it, but I can't recall. Honestly, pick songs that mean something to you.
Fun fact...you won't remember shit from your ceremony. You'll be zoned the entire time.
We had To Zanarkand from FFX playing as people came into ours, because we both like the tune, if we'd had a first dance which wee thankfully avoided, Eyes on Me might have been a contender. I got Take That's Rule The World in as our final tune though (that one from Stardust).
My friend's wedding used this as their first dance song.
Etta James - At Last
<3 Regina Spektor. She's just all around adorable.
It's dead obvious, but I've always thought a slightly re-scored Prologue would make a good bridal march

(The XII and XIV versions are better examples, but the 14 isn't up yet, and 12's doesn't kick in til the last half minute of the intro)
What is this DJ bullshit?
Real band of nothing.
Oh and almost anything from Journey.
I forgot who but one of the moderators had "To Zanarkand" (FFX Intro when they're around the camp fire) as their intro/wedding music, apparently the crowd cheered and complimented it lots. I think his post ended with "bypassed massive geekery" or something since no one knew it was from FFX lol.
Some say, that his ears are on backwards
and that he can't read more than eight posts up
all we know is, he's called TheStig
