Just played through radiangames Inferno, awesome fucking game. It's not really an RPG so much as it is a dual analog shooter with upgrades and secret levels. You kill and explore to get gold to upgrade your ship, either shield power or speed or weapon upgrades like homing or spread shots (you can respec whenever you want too). Fully upgraded you feel like a beast, you also get 3 mini drones that follow you around and shoot whenever you do. The whole game took me about 2 hours to play through, after which you unlock New Game+ which lets you start over with all of your upgrades.

Definitely a refreshing take on the done-to-death Geometry Wars formula, even if this game cost more than 1 dollar it'd still be worth every penny.

edit: oh and it supports 4 player co-op too

    adding a few more:

Arkedo Series 01: JUMP! (240) - A simple platformer with fun music and tight controls. Just like Pixel and Swap this has a very unique aesthetic and nice faux-8bit graphics.

Arkedo Series 02: SWAP! (240) - More from Arkedo, only this one is a puzzle game. The gameplay is very similar to MagicalCube so for 2 bucks more you may want to invest in that instead since it has RPG elements.
    http://download.xbox.com/content/xna...creen3_Web.jpg

Abaddon: Retribution (80) - A top-down twin stick space shooter with tower defense elements. Upgrade your base's hardpoints with turrets, upgrade multiple player ships with various weapons and abilities, and defend the ship (with up to 4 players if you want). Definitely has an oldschool Escape Velocity feel to it. Apparently there's the first game in the series too, Abaddon.

2 more to add to the list

Storybook Tactics (80) - A basic SRPG with blocky graphics and a number of character classes. As far as I can tell you don't level up so it seems to focus more on tactics than leveling progress. Worth trying the demo if you're an SRPG fan since it's only a buck and there's no other SRPGs on Xbox Indies.

West (80) - An old school turn-based RPG. The overworld graphics are nice but lack a certain amount of life (due to a lack of motion) and the battle graphics are lackluster but it's a great first effort from a single 18 year old designer and worth a try if you're looking for another cheap indie RPG.

Epic Dungeon is out today, first game in the Winter Uprising:

It only costs 1 dollar (80 pts) and it's actually a lot of fun so far, if you're looking for a fun little roguelike/dungeon crawler you really can't beat it.

Is anyone even reading these posts? lol

looks like Soulcaster II was pulled out of peer review because of a controller lockup bug, so it won't be out in the first week here. Supposedly it's an additional 9 days, so the earliest we'll get it is December 11th, although I imagine that'll be something closer to the December 15th or 16th. Oh well, probably going to be worth the wait. Maybe I'll play through Soulcaster 1 quickly instead...

Lunatic Studios also just tweeted that Aphelion Episode II (the game I'm waiting for the most) is currently in Peer Review, which means it'll show up on marketplace in the next couple of days. If you are an RPG fan you should definitely spend the 3 bucks and spring for Aphelion Ep. 1, it's my favorite game on Xbox Indies by far.

As for the rest of the Uprising... Break Limit, Ubergridder, and Hypership Out of Control are out already, and I'm expecting a few other releases this week.

Oh and Epic Dungeon is awesome. If you don't spend a dollar (80 points) to get it you have no soul. It's a shitload of fun, with a few twists on the typical roguelike formula to really make it interesting.

Soulcaster II has been released today, for 240 pts ($3). Simply put this game is awesome, as was the first Soulcaster. It's basically a retro 8-bit action/adventure game with tower defense elements. The Soulcaster games are among my top 5 favorites on XBLIG, can't really recommend them enough. Both games clock in around 2-3 hours but it's well worth the 3 dollar price tag.

A few more games from the Indie Uprising are out:

radiangames Crossfire 2 (80) - The first crossfire didn't sell that well, mostly because it was priced at 240 points instead of 80, but the 2nd adds an upgrade system and keeps all the amazingly fun mechanics and particle effects you've come to expect from radiangames. For 80 points this is well worth your time, it's like space invaders on crack.

Aphelion Episode 2: Wings of Omega (240) - The first Aphelion was an amazingly solid little turn-based RPG with an interesting story and an incredibly deep crafting and ability system. The 2nd continues right where the first left off and adds a bunch of new mechanics and extras, if you liked the first you should try it, and if you haven't tried it you should at least download the demo for the first game.

I haven't tried out Chu's Dynasty but it has a very smash brothers feel to it, and ZP2KX is the next game from the makers of I Made a Game with Zombies and it looks pretty sweet. Still no release on Alpha Squad and Cthulu Saves the World, but I'll post when they do come out.

Let's see.... haven't updated this thread since the Winter Uprising, feels kinda like Xbox Indies are kinda dead these days but there's been a few games here and there that are pretty interesting.

Astroman (240) - Metroidvania-style side scrolling action adventure, with decent graphics. There's upgrades to your spaceship as well as your exploration abilities, and I think the game includes space battles or spaceship sections between worlds but I haven't gotten that far.

Also, supposedly coming March 4th is FortressCraft, which is essentially a Minecraft clone but it looks like it has really nice graphics/textures. From Joystiq:

The game, which is (perhaps cheekily) titled FortressCraft, will be broken down into seven chapters to be released every four to six weeks. In a post on the Minecraft forums, a Projector representative explained, "Chapter 1 is basically Minecraft's Creative, Chapter 2 adds in crafting, Chapter 3 adds in life, Chapter 4 adds in machinery, Chapter 5 adds in Minions, Chapter 6 adds in PvP, Chapter 7 adds in Fortress Assault mode... (or whatever)." According to the FortressCraft Twitter account, the first chapter is due out next Friday, March 4 for 80 Microsoft Points ($1).

Even though I haven't played minecraft in a few months I'm really excited for it

How Multiplayer is handled for now due to a limitation for indie games on XBL. (http://forum.fortresscraft.com/defau...=4852#post4852)

Some of the graphics & options available in Chapter one.

Also I think there's a Minecraft texture pack, if you prefer the older/grainy look.

    240 MSP for Chapter 1
