Really, people came and went in FFXI I just kinda stopped noticing eventually. Made some heavy goals for myself, dug my heels in, and put blinders on.

Was fun but at the same time I wish I could go back to when the game was simple and mysterious a lot too.

It was mainly due to (imo) none of us having any fucking idea what we were doing, what we should be doing, why we were doing it, etc.

If I play FF14 none of that will exist for me I don't think, beyond the first week.

Although I will do the same thing I did in FFXI without knowing it was a good idea - craft right fucking away.
