None, I'm looking for a way to stay Mithra and still be able to macro them in and out. If it was fulltime gear that would be easily solved, equip the gear as Hume then //race mithra.

    3. Chocobo races are full of bullshit artificial difficulty like the 3 superbirds or the cactuar
    4. The rewards suck

Pankration probably died by frustrating the shit out of anyone who wasn't immediately turned off by the lack of reward, and SE killed conflict with their constant nannying nerfs.
It doesn't matter how many times you say it, being able to change into a baby chocobo for an hour is the single most awesome thing any item can do for you in the entire game. Don't even try to argue, there is no argument. Baby chocobo, there's no topping it. Period =o

But on a serious note, the simple reward of being able to call yourself a personal chocobo on the field to save yourself a long ass walk home makes it worthwhile to me.

Toss in the ability to make a good 50-60K a day just by clicking an npc a few times in an area accessible by any nation, chocobo neck etc etc, and I think it was one of the more successful sub quests. Doesn't even come close to magian trials, FoV, but its miles better than some of the other shit, ahem-FoVaugments-ahem

You don't have to go out of your way to refute the widely held notion that there are no rewards from chocobo raising/racing.

I always had some sort of obscure respect for people who had the patience to deal with the whole chocobo aspect of the game... but it certainly wasn't worth it for the chocobo whistle. Carry a couple of warp cudgels, they're like 15k. Profit. There is no question mark.

But the real pros use a combination of both, plus one or two tele rings for abyssea parties and of course a few of the teleporting earrings from synergy, maybe adding in the OP warp return ring for good measure. Just keep it all in your moogle bag and you can go from pretty much anywhere to anywhere in less than 5 minutes.

Thats also not including the Nexus cape :D

It'll definitely be Atma, as the stats match.

Can someone break down why oa3 claws does better with Footwork active vs just regular h2h? I remember reading someone say oa2 and 3 procs on both fists, and if you kick, on that too. With footwork seems to me I'm just waiting a long time between 1 kick and next, so with no proc it seems bad, if it does it is great. Maths, charts, how Kick Attack+ gear/merits and haste effects all of this will be very handy, and I yes I totally plan to use Poise Shoes as well, thanks in advance for your response.

Best explanation I've seen concerning the OA2-3 on Footwork themselves (only 2 hits during FW but it's much more frequent than you'd expect). As for actual performance, picture a D:83 OAT weapon with 480 delay and ~70% DA rate where you only need 5 hits to WS. WS cycles are extremely fast and Tornado Kick is no slouch.

If you're asking why they're better with FW than without, it's a D:0 weapon with OA2-3 properties on a job that already has a decently high DA rate (kicks, possibly /WAR) and it hurts Asuran pretty badly. FW damage on the other hand is completely unaffected by the mainhand weapon aside from counters - you're still getting the full D:35 bonus of Poise Shoes in combination with a ridiculous DA rate.

EDIT: Random question of my own, can anybody confirm the change to 500 delay for Footwork on otherwiki?

    change of delay?

after reading how FW seems to have these hidden proc chances built-in from base hth, I'm shocked and amazed this is normal and not a bug.

Was previously listed as 480... Would change things a bit if it's true. Less Store TP needed for your 5 kicks post-WS, but also slower overall. Not enough to close the gap against STR Taipans, but they're already situational equipment as it is.

After the second hit I had 27% tp, meaning that the TP return per hit has to be atleast 13.5%. Additionally, with 10 Store TP, I would get 14% after 1 hit, and 29% TP after 2 hits, with 11 Store TP, I would get 15% after 1, and 30% after 2.

From what I can tell, the only way Footwork Kicks could give the correct TP return in all these situations would be if the delay were 500, not 480, resulting in a base TP return of 13.6% before any Store TP gear. --Lukaryu 21:02, August 13, 2010 (UTC)
