    Looking at Otherwiki about Bow attacks hitting Mictlantecuhtli no matter what, curious if either RNG/NIN with E.Bow or Loxley Bow or a RDM/NIN would be better, or even possible?

    Hm didn't realize this, just to make sure we're on the same page you're talking about Mictlantecuhtli right?

    rdm/nin joytoy + nuke after casts, or no melee just tank and nuke after casts?

    Oh, no i was talking about Mictlantecuhtlo.

    Pin it on the rock in between corse and turtles, don't go to the north side of the rock with yellow hp, switch to mdt gear for thundaga3, and keep shadows up. Takes a while, but isn't really that hard. agas hit for liek 200~ damage past stoneskin, even with a gimp mdt set, and can often be outran (but not always).

    edit: no, don't tank it, it DAs wayyyy too often.

    What's the rule to have spellcast detect that I have Footwork active on engage, so that it equips my footwork gear when I engage a mob instead of my regular TP gear?

    It detects it when already engaged and equips stuff properly, but only after I take an action of sorts.

    What if I don't really have room for a decent MDT set? All I'd have is barthunder, Phalanx, Dalmy, and Duelist's gloves. Don't have the room for anything else tbh.

    Also, just Bio/Poison DOT, or nuking yes?

    You can grab a pair of coral rings, hexerai cape, and maybe a few pieces of coral set ? I'm pretty sure you can dbox some stuff to yourself and buy it. It's not terribly important really, but there's really no good excuse for not having it.

    Of course you nuke.

    <if buffactive="footwork" status="engaged">
    <equip set="fw"/>
    </if>
    <elseif status="enagged">
    <equip set="tp"/>
    </elseif>

    Just to save anyone else a few seconds the spelling of the cape is Hexerei Cape. Pretty neat piece, I never noticed it until after your post, always just used Umbra which obviously doesn't help with reducing magic dmg. I'll have to camp the AH for that, of course one sold 17 hrs ago for the first time in over a month lol.

    edit: man with the price of coral fragments now a days it's almost silly not to have a BC friend HQ some coral pieces.

    double edit: looks like Colossus's Mantle is a decent alternative if you can't get your hands on a hexerei cape.

    Not exactly, this will only trigger after you are engaged, which is more or less what he has now. When you pull your weapon, status would still be idle. You need a trigger when you engage, as well as checking after every action while engaged.

    Code:
    <if buffactive="footwork">
    <equip when="engaged" set="fw"/>
    </if>
    <else>
    <equip when="engaged" set="tp"/>
    </else>
    .
    .
    .
    <if buffactive="footwork" status="engaged">
    <equip when="aftercast" set="fw"/>
    </if>
    <elseif status="enagged">
    <equip when="aftercast" set="tp"/>
    </elseif>
    Edit: See http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/showp...&postcount=878 for a more detailed version

    Dyna-Sandy spam

    It really depends which NMs are being heavily camped and such.
    Shit is situational.
    You can also spend some time looking through ppl's /seacom to see what type of equipments are in demand.

    Back then, you can sell kitty pants or omega gear for decent gil while low man farm/kill NM. But it all depends on server really.

    With level cap being raised, it became really easy.
    There were many players here reporting they could clear the area with 6.
    It depends how well your member equip themsleves and how much they understand the area.
    I'd say for average nowadays, team of 12, 1 DD 1 Mage pt should clear zone easily.

    Tons of pages in the Abyssea thread so I'll just ask here: What does the !! do when triggered on an NM? And if you trigger more than once, does that do anything?

    Lately Port Bastok and the Metalworks have been completely dead zones on the pc I play on (windower FC's as soon as I try to zone in on any character/account on this pc). Also, when I go to any crag's chocobo person, instead of standing next to a choco there's a telepoint crystal instead.

    I tried doing a file check through POL, had some errors, repaired, no change whatsoever. Today I decided to uninstall FFXI and do a clean install, but installation has been giving me problems. I have the 2008 Vana'diel Collection and keep getting the error "Error 1335, the cabinet file Data11.cab is corrupt blah blah blah" no matter which drive I have the disc in. I also have the 2007 Vana'diel Collection disc, but get the exact same error.

    Looked up the error code and there doesn't seem to be an immediate fix. How in the world can I get ffxi back on this pc?
