Sooo second question- what files do I need to copy over from an old computer to let my new one have access to expansions? I was just going to copy over the whole thing, but my old computer is only recognizing a relatively small flash drive- which means I have to pick and choose, and get the rest via file check. So far I've just copied over the USER file.

Can Minhocao be DD tanked? My pt setup would be MNK SAM THF RDM RDM BRD. Just wondering if a PLD is necessary. Also, fight it from behind to avoid disgorge, right?

That setup works fine, I'd have one of the rdms /drk to stun gorge, and yeah fight from behind/far sides.

Don't really need a PLD.

The problem I've had in the past is where I didn't have enough damage to push it from 25% to 0 quickly enough and Gorge just absorbed too much HP and dealt too much damage to everyone in range.

The only use i can think of is mandalic stab due to it's atk bonus offsetting that huge atk loss. I would be wary of using it on solo SA simply because if amemit beats 4 dex on SA then -30 atk vs 8 dex would have no reason to not go the same way.

PLD is a waste on it. Tank with 2-3 DDs and stun Gorge (and Extreme Purgation if you have a 2nd stunner)

These can be understood as the "soft" minimum (floor) and "soft" maximum (cap or ceiling) without any potency-enhancing factors other than dark magic skill. With dark skill alone, they cannot be increased above 300 skill, but obviously equipment/day/weather/ability effects can increase these.

Maxima:

Drain I: skill + 20 (max 320 at 300 skill)
Aspir: skill/3 + 20 (max 120 at 300 skill)
Drain II: skill + 85 (max 385 at 300 skill)

Minima:
Drain I: (skill + 20)/2 (max 160 at 300 skill)
Aspir: (skill/3 +20)/2 (max 80 at 300 skill)
Drain II: skill + 20 (max 320 at 300 skill)

Unresisted values of Drain, Aspir, and Drain II should be considered uniformly distributed based on the minima and maxima described previously.

What's the best way for a Bard to skill up singing/wind/string skills after 77? Before 77, I always spammed Threnodies on goldfish for easy skill, but there are no goldfish over 77 according to otherwiki. Just got 80 in an Abyssea exp group and in a party setup that had me singing eight songs a round, I didn't have much chance to skill up on our exp mobs.

I mean, finding a mob that lullabies well and spamming threnodies on it is pretty obvious, but I'm hoping there's something even better I'm not seeing (ala Threnodies on goldfish).

So if one has gear that breaks the 300 cap, there's no difference? Well that sucks, but would let me clear up some inventory space when on BLM, I suppose.

At this time, no, but additional dark skill beyond 300 should still increase accuracy (reduce the resist rate) where applicable. And the maximum minimum Aspir should be 60, not 80 as I incorrectly typed.
