worth getting for THF? Will the Evisceration DMG bonus activate if this is in the off-hand?

For anyone doing Apkallu's, just thought I'd mention something I encountered today at Mount Z. I was PTing with 2 Japanese Monks on Apkallus so I wasn't able to ask them what exactly they were doing but I thought I'd post my observations here anyways. Me and the other Japanese Monk would do all the fighting. We both wouldn't Tornado Kick until under 50% to prevent the target from running away. The odd thing was the 3rd Monk was /Whm and every time we got the mob under %50, he would cast Cure on one of us. At that point, the Apkallu would start attacking him even though he hadn't done anything else all fight. One interesting effect of this is the Apkallu seemed to run away far less often when he did this. It would just keep attacking him even when it dipped below 25% most times.
The other odd thing about it was, the -PDT effect seemed to accumulate MUCH slower. The first time I PT'd with him, we killed over 100 Apkallu's with very little increase in -PDT before he left. Then I PT'd with a few random jobs where we all melee'd and we were hitting zeros in around 30 minutes. He and the other Japanese Monk both came back later and we started doing it again. A bunch of random jobs joined us on Firesday but we didn't let them fight. We killed maybe 200 Apkallus in a span of 3 or 4 hours before my TKs dropped from 1200-1300 to 600-700. Maybe it was just placebo but even all the freeloaders who joined us for Firesday said they'd never seen that many be killed in one day.
So if anyone wants to give it a shot it was strictly me and one other Mnk fighting while the 3rd Mnk just stood next to the mob and casted Cure on himself when it hit 50%. We always held our WS to under 50%, as well.
White magic makes Apkallu stick to the caster, doesn't matter what spell or how much hate it gives, the spell doesn't even need to get off, just attempting to cast makes them fixate completely.
No idea why, they just do.
I assume the effect becomes exaggerated with more Apkallu hate.
I was duoing Apkallu with a PUP/SCH for part of my trial and when they'd use frigid shuffle and he'd try and paralyna, even if the cast was paralyzed, he'd still get hate and even 1500+ TKs wouldn't get it off him.
According to the wiki page for the Promathia fight, his Chains of Apathy, Chains of Arrogance, etc inflict a terror effect if you don't have the proper light. My question is, isn't getting your light back a required part of the story?
I always heard getting an Apollo's staff was much better than a light staff for bst charm sets. Does it really make that much difference?
15% vs. 10%.
About 1hand weapons.
Some bonuses apply as a whole to your character, while others apply only to that specific weapon.
For example +6% Crit, OAT/OA2-3, as far as I know, only apply to the hits performed with the weapon with such bonuses.
I was wondering if anybody knows if this applies to the "+X% DA" bonuses as well. Thinking for example about the third path of multiple attacks weapons from Trials. (path1: OAT, path2: OA2-3, path3: +DA)
DA should apply to both.
If that's true (is it?) and if the +DA bonus reaches a decent number in next patches (like +15?) dualwielding 2 of those weapons could be a really awesome combination, no?
And you would get full bonus from stacking other +DA items/JT, whereas you get diminished efficiency for those when using OAT or OA2-3 weapons (since DA can only proc when OA doesn't, which is ~50% of the times for OAT, and ~25% of the times for OA2-3 if I'm not wrong)
I stuck one in Martyr and I have used ienough not to regret it but it's definitely an 'Oh Shit' JA.
I do use devotion a lot (often on PLD) but it's usually up when I need it. I have 3 in it. I still have one in Prot V for convenience but if I drop it I'll go with 4/5 Devotion.
I'll never understand why people waste their merits on protect5. Yay, it costs 20 more mp, and gives a whopping 5 more defense than protect4!!!!1
That seems like a waste of a strategem, for lol5def.
Does Trudging Thomas have movement speed?
