Had to reinstall FFXI and PC. Old XP again SP3 - before Windower was working as intended and now POL to FFXI after the PLAY button crashes each time I try to start it with. Anyone has a quick idea what could have changed?

Has anyone else noticed a huge increase in RMT tells lately?
It's gone from 1 per day to 1 every 2 hours over the last few weeks.
I'm getting maybe 2 a week, same as i have been.
Is there something I'm missing about full Aurore on thf and dnc? I've been teaming up with lots of thf and dnc for Magian trials on Puks, and it seems like 75% of them are using nothing but pink armor.
It's a combination of stupidity and that they're convinced they need the defensive stats. I've been running into entirely too many Ninjas who are 4/5 Aurore with Byakko's Haidate on while I'm wearing a far better set that, these days, is every bit as inexpensive. I evade slightly fewer hits, but on EPs, it's sort of moot.
What's the proc rate on Caitiff's Socks when the conditions are met?
The DA bonus should apply to both weapons, but SE being what it is and the only one-handed weapon with a DA bonus before the June update was Niokiyotsuna with only +1% DA (a katana that drops from Tres Duendes in Phominua Aqueducts... yes, I was considering checking whether the DA applied only to Niokiyotsuna)... I doubt anyone actually ever checked it.
Fortunately, if someone actually has a DA +7% weapon, the number of attack rounds needed to determine whether DA affects both weapons is not that high (since the difference between 3.5% observed and 7% is relatively large), about 250 attack rounds (each attack round having two attack attempts) provided that there is no other source of DA present during the data collection (equip no other DA gear, do not sub /WAR, no not use Fighter's Roll, etc.)
Can someone point me in the right direction to the ffxi torrent? a working one or something along those lines? an answer via pm would be great. ive tried to use the seach function on here but so many topics and i didnt see anything that worked.
You could just offhand a D1 weapon, which would make it incredibly easy to tell if it DAd, since the damage would be so different, so you could end the test after a single offhand da.
Wouldn't it be more simpler to equip a +7DA weapon mainhand, a non DA weapon offhand, no other DA traits/bonuses/food/gear and just check "visually" which weapons perform a DA?
If even the offhand performs a DA, means the bonus applies to both weapons and not just the specific one with the bonus.
As far as I know what happens in the game engine should be perfectly matched by the animations on screen, and if your attack rate ain't too fast (messing animations with attackturns which almost overlaps, or counters, or parries and anything that can create visual confusion), it should be quite easy to check it in just a few minutes of fight.
Anyway, my ideas about possible developments of the new +DA trial weapons have been already killed, since I didn't notice they were Rare too. I don't know why but I was really sure the DA ones were just Aug/EX =(
Triple Dagger has been in the game for a long time, it's on the AH, and there's no reason to believe Triple Attack works a differently than Double Attack. I didn't actually compete the DA dagger (needed the OA2-3 for Dancer), but it seems implied that it would work on both hands.
I may get a Double Attack+7 Axe for WAR next update if dual wielding comes back into style (thanks Marcicus). If you do the math, DA+7 Axe/Fire Axe is pretty competitive with Fire Axe/OAT Axe if it works on both hands.
588 delay either way:
(60+fSTR)*1.27 + (56+fSTR)*1.27 = 180.34 (@fSTR=13) = 165.2 (@fSTR=7)
(56+fSTR)*1.20 + (48+fSTR)*1.52 = 175.52 (@fSTR=13) = 159.2 (@fSTR=7)
The DPS of DA+7 Axe is always better than the current OAT if it applies to both hands. Obviously the OAT axe has a little higher WS frequency (2.72 attacks per round vs. 2.54), but you lose out on main hand damage. Just eyeballing, I would guess that they're pretty similar damage-wise. The slight loss in DPS from using the fully upgraded OAT is probably offset by the increase in WS frequency.
Still.... I'm entirely unenthusiastic about doing another "kill 3000 monsters" path, so I may hold off until the next update to see how people are feeling about GA vs. Axes. Dual Wield 3 and capping Acc on everything accidentally may change some things. At least they finally made better offhand Axes than Joyeuse though, even if they aren't better than Ridill yet.
Torrents of MMO installs are only as useful as the game is popular, particularly as regards new players. FFXI is pretty low on the list, so it follows that no one really torrents it much anymore. I recall trying to find an active torrent for a friend a while ago and had no luck. The only option that comes to mind might be Steam, but I'm pretty sure you'd have to purchase a full copy, etc. etc.
Following up on this... It was suggested the level is 3-5 range, but I don't understand how this is possible. Since Simurgh gives exp, wouldn't it be easy to figure out the level? (wiki says it is level 58). Since then I have fought Roc and Simurgh three more times each, both still incredibly evasive. I am using a near 500 acc build now, with Bream Sushi (which turns Roc from a cakewalk to a 15min Skoffin-like solo).
I have only killed Simurgh once at 76 and most times raging/pre-raging around 10% HP. Considering I killed Roc 20 times in a row and Simurgh 10 times in a row pre-76 maybe it was adjusted? I will probably find out sooner or later myself because I am about to de-level from Simurgh deaths... Anyway, if anyone else has experience soloing these, let me know what you think.
PS: Simurgh gave me 17 exp at lv76 with a lv80 RDM in the party. Not sure how to figure the level out though.
This has 8 seeds.
