Can anyone post some sample detonator builds I could see?
Bump from p34--I've been a mage main all my FFXI-life and my WS mods have always been easy on other things I've leveled but not used in endgame (lolmods on mnk, dex and/or agi based on SA or TA on thf). Now I want to make sure I have my priorities straight. I'd really appreciate it if someone would tell me whether I have this right based on cursory research:
DE damage as a Dnc. Is Acc > Atk > Str > Dex/Chr reasonable? The biggest thing I'm uncertain of is Atk's place on the list.
For dancer I would say attack is the biggest concern.
You already have tons and tons of accuracy, so accuracy while technically ACC is the most important, should already be capped without much effort.
Assuming you had Dia II/III, Box Step, and then Chaos Roll or another attack buff, you could also easily approach pDIF cap, in which case you would want to go for stats.
STR is basically 25% WSC via fSTR, which also gives attack
DEX is 30% WSC with no cap, and also gives accuracy
CHR is 40% and is just WSC, which save for a few random pieces of gear with a ton of CHR, you'll likely be better off going for STR(ATK)/DEX(ACC) pieces.
So I would say ATK > STR/DEX with the assumption your accuracy will be capped either way.
Well, you always want to cap Acc first. I'm trying to figure out how Attack and STR/DEX/CHR play together. Because we're using such low base damage weapons (without SA or TA), mods and STR are more important than for other weapons. However, we're also pretty chronically low attack (especially on DNC/SAM). Even with buffs, Dia 3, and Box Step, there's almost no danger of capping Attack on Abyssea mobs. I think I run about 380 Attack in my TP gear pre-buffs/food and a little more in my WS gear.
Heck, I couldn't even cap my Attack on EP-- Buffalo (DEF+20%) during my last trial. Even with Berserk and Warcry (the luckiest Chaos Roll in the world for a partying DNC/SAM), the difference between Mithkabobs and Yellow Curry Buns was very noticeable (1350 DE max with Miths, 1500 with YCBs).
I'm considering a set like this for all-purpose WS gear:
Auric/OA2-3/___/Threw
O-hat/Gorget/Aesir/Brutal
Mirke/Enkidu/Triumph/Rajas
Forager/Virtuoso/Tumbler/Agrona's
Mirke with Acc/Atk+10. I'd probably switch Virtuoso to Warwolf on older content. It feels like I should be using something else over Optical Hat, but I can't think of anything off the top of my head. (lol)
Realistically speaking, how long will it take to complete two fully upgraded Kilas? Evasion/AGL, if it matters.
In days, or hours spent killing monsters? You can expect about 50/game day for all the required monsters. If you're completing two of the same path, you can multi-task to some extent. However, you can't be on the same trial at once so it's a little more complicated than that. Add up the kills, subtract the ones that you can do at the same time, and divide by 50.
Regardless of this, your biggest and most obnoxious obstacle, unless you resign yourself to windsdays only, is going to be waiting for weather to pop. It's somewhat frequent in Vunkerl (Crab trial and the one after, and Vermin if you're having good luck there)--but Wajaom (Birds, Malboros, Puks) is VERY finicky about wind weather, and I honestly have no idea what to do about beasts beyond Uleguerand on windsday.![]()
Quick q I've been thinking about since the new update: is soloing a Swift Belt now completely trivial? Are all the formerly level-capped zones in CoP now completely free from level cap, or are some still capped? And are the fomor, taurus/stegotaur in the aquaducts still around level 50? Or did they up the levels of those mobs?
How would nin/cor do in terms of effectiveness soloing vs other sub options, considering you can use quick draw to enhance your own slow/para etc?
Edit: and any testing done to see if/how much water shot enhances aisha?
No self healing so it seems kind of useless unless you're doing kite solos.
OA3 Magian distribution is 50:30:20, right? What would be the average attacks/round be?
You should be aiming to cap your hit rate during tp while using full haste gear. If that is the case, you only need as much acc in your WS gear as you have in your TP gear, which is barely any. There's not much dnc can wear with a lot of str or WS mods, so a lot of pieces you will be better off with attack. Something like warwolf vs swordbelt or enkidu mittens vs tarasque +1 you would probably go for the str/dex.
Is there anyone here that can tell me how can i build a good MDB gear for my Automanton?
Not a torrent and seems to be capped around 300KB but still:

Ultimate Collection 2009. Was linked in some topic a few pages pack.
Doing 2-3 Ursine Claws, have 3 MNKs and 2 RDM PLs. Where would be the most time efficient places to do these trials? I'm trying to think of camps where we won't have a lot of down time.
Trial 76 400 lizard - Abyssea-Konschtat ideally, but other than that maybe VoS?
Trial 77 300 puks - Mamool Ja Staging Point
Trial 79 500 vermin - Ladybugs in Jugner S
Trial 80 600 birds - Leypoint
Trial 81 400 gnoles - Abyssea-La theine/Jugner S
Trial 1143 600 undead - Gustuv Tunnel
Trial 1144 450 apkallu - Arrapago Reef.
Any places that would be more ideal than these? I really just wanna get the shit done cause I'm tired of doing trials![]()
