Is it possible at all to get Apkallu in MMM or something? Arrapago penguins keep running and linking and raping. They weren't even resisting melee.
I was wavering on this myself until I understood why 3 merits was the magic number for NFR: Because that plus one step = max finishing moves anyway. It's going to be fairly rare you need that 75 TP before you have a chance to get one little step off.
Can't say for certain, but I've done a LOT of bird mazes and have never once seen apkallu. I'm going to say no based on that.
Is Omega ring better for Elvaan BLM, then Snow ring?
Also, Hecate Cape or Ixion Cloak?
I really like 5/5 Saber Dance for DNC. Sure it only raises the average Double Attack % by 10%, buuuuut... it's hot to have it match Meditate and No Foot Rise's timers. You're ensured a 50% DA rate on those weaponskills.
Speaking of which, I've heard this 50% DA rate with 10% decay every minute cited a lot, but does anyone know the source? Those are oddly exact numbers.
This is my current build for nukes: (Currently 2 INT merits, eventually will finish up last 3. Elemental merits maxed.)
<ammo>Phantom Tathlum
<head>Wzd. Petasos +1
<neck>Prudence Torque
<lear>Novio Earring
<rear>Moldavite Earring
<body>Morrigan's robe
<hands>Morrigan's Cuffs
<lring>Snow Ring
<rring>Snow Ring
<back>Ixion Cape
<waist>Witch Sash
<legs>Morrigan's Slops
<feet>Yigit Crackows
Any advise to optimize this is welcomed. This is for normal~ish mobs, not high resistant/magic evasive.
Melee gloves: good to swap in for what? just got them. except Chakra of course
Au contraire, smart BLMs don't need to start from a specific baseline. They just know what gear to wear. 320/120 are numbers that were always minimally useful, but are even more so now that we're 80 and fight a large level range of stuff during endgame events.
Go for full nuke potency (INT/MAB) with a good set and you'll cap MAcc on most things without trying. It was true when we were 75 and it's still true.
i think the problem was i assumed that if one was asking about an omega ring, they were talking about a resist build. of course int/mab is the norm on almost everything.
anyways, on with the thread:
do sch DoTs land/have effect on temperance?
Any one else having major windower issues? I cannot seem to get spellcast to work, or status timer.... rest are doing fine though.
Assuming you are lvl 80, I would change/upgrade the following:
<head>Teal Chapeau or Selenean cap with 4 int 2mab 2 macc
<neck>lemeg +1 or goetia
<lear>Novio Earring
<rear>Moldavite Earring
<body>Morrigan's robe
<hands>Morrigan's Cuffs
<lring>Aquilo's Ring
<rring>Aquilo's Ring
<back>Ixion Cape
<waist>Cognition
<legs>Morrigan's Slops
<feet>Yigit Crackows
With lvl 80, the extra 25 native skill you get once capped allows you to heavily stack int now. Might want a skill set for stuff like tia/kirin still I guess, but for normal mobs/pudding, the above just rapes. Might want to do some tests on morri slop's vs teal as well, but the dmg difference should be in the teens.
Fight the first one. When it runs to link, kite all the apkallu until they deagro (doable without +move, but easier with). Make sure to reclaim the one you were fighting with Chi Blast before it despawns. Repeat as needed until you reach the repop cycle time, at which point you're only dealing with a couple at a time, at most.
When the +HP and Subtle Blow are useful.
Generally if you're solo or duo tanking something that hits hard (so +HP, though of rather trivial benefit) and you want to limit its TP moves (assuming multi-hit TP moves or moves that wipe or go through shadows), you'll take significantly less damage by lowering TP move rates with more Subtle Blow than from the <~1% faster kill time from OKote. If you are accuracy limited you'd want to use Usu hands for the same effect instead, if that's an option. They're also slightly better (defensively) than OKote/BKote if your evasion isn't floored.
This also assumes you care about/need to worry about the backline support MP.
Although I agree, if you have a backline support, 4 Attack shouldn't even register as a negligible difference with at least some kind of Attack-boosting food, some kind of Attack-boosting buff, and a minimum of Dia II. The added HP means less Enmity lost when taking damage and the Subtle Blow, though not terribly important, is a nice bonus to have.
