Anyone know the difference between Red Curry Bun and Red Curry Bun +1? I can't seem to find it.
As a side note, "With a generous portion of savory red curry nearly bursting from its flaky crust, this piping hot bun is truly a treat to all five senses." How is this curry bun a treat to the sense of hearing?
Here you go Bryth--I tested four mobs until they each died--one even lasted the full duration of Saber Dance. For the first two mobs I was Dual-Wielding to see if it could proc on both hands (and/or both hands at a time) with an effective delay after DW and Haste of 206 (so you can calculate DA percentage in any intervals you like), and for the last two mobs I was single-wielding just to get the DA rate nailed down with an effective delay of 160.
No DA gear--SAM sub, had spellcast disabled so it wouldn't put my brutal on, in this gear: http://www.ffxiah.com/members/item-sets?id=162558 (aside from the daggers and the Brutal)
You can trust the delay listed. Aside from one incident where the last mob stuck a fast petrify (Antica Sand Trap) on me in the last minute of Saber Dance, I didn't stop to use any JA at all.
Also note this is with only one merit in Saber Dance.

If you want more of this we can coordinate in PMs, I think this is venturing beyond the scope of the random Q thread?![]()
When I soloed NW last when I was on the last floor I chainspell nuked a behe after Binding it and bind lasted about 6 or 7 nukes and 2 Drains. I have noticed that I can regularly nuke 2 or more times on every mob in sky before bind will wear off, and even at times Bio will hit it and Bind will still not wear off. I can not think of a single time Bio has ever NOT removed the Bind effect. I think it is either the higher skill we now have or they patched something, because level has never been a factor in how potent a Bind has been in my experience.
I recently got DRG to 80 and started my Magian quest for the Stingray and am having a hard time deciding what final form to get.
Which of these 2 should I go for?
DMG +18
Impulse Drive DMG: +10%
or
DMG +15
"Store TP" +8
(UnAugmented Stingray is DMG 83, Delay 492)
Thanks for any help ^_^
Stp lets you wear full perle in a 6 hit. When goading is more common and/or brisk mask you can get 5 hit with carbonara i think so stp generally wins.
Swapped it and they were still present, any idea where else they might be located? It wouldn't be such a big deal if they just lagged me a bit, but it's so bad that it actually slows down my entire (brand new) PC to a crawl until I move away from them, so it has me concerned.
Well, this doesn't tell us exactly what Saber Dance does, but it does convince me that ffwiki's numbers are full of shit. If we're going to continue this line of research further, I'd advise getting a parser to count the number of 1/2/3/4 attack rounds. I've considered doing it by hand, and it seems daunting to get a significant sample size.
Fan Dance is known to decrease in potency with every time you are hit. It doesn't make much sense to me for Saber Dance to work the same way, but it might be worth going DNC/NIN just to make sure.
The bit about getting hit reducing the potency is in the description of Fan Dance, Saber Dance just says "gradually decreases".
To be fair, it's a pretty tiny sample size. The ranges vary widely from 14% DA to 32% DA (first and last fight respectively). That's why I'd like to coordinate something more formal. I also feel like single-wielding is really the way to go--mobs took far longer to die and DAs were far easier to count. Since they put Saber Dance in when DNC didn't have native DW, it doesn't make sense to me that it would calculate any differently for one-hand vs. DW.
If anyone can tell me which parser is good at counting DA rounds and how I go about configuring it (being able to look at each individual hit would be nice since it's claimed Saber Dance decreases over set intervals, and I didn't see this in, say, kparser), that would help a lot.
Honestly my theory is that it works exactly like Fan Dance--you have x% chance to DA until you actually proc DA (or until you hit the mob period), at which point your chance to DA decreases (but not lower than a set floor). It would help explain why the beginning of these tests, when we first pop Saber, are so full of procs... but also why they level out so very quickly (constant DA rate for the first 60 seconds my ass).
Nah, not really. I used to use dusk, dusk+1 feet, and amemet+1 as my only attack gear, and iirc used to hit greater lolibri for ~15 damage average, and absolutely no 0 damage hits (i did always have chaos roll though, and minuet wasn't rare either). Pretty much anything that you'd be hitting for 0, you probably shouldn't be meleeing with a kc.
After checking the .dat again the aura around it is blue while the ones in Abyssea are red, so 5-8-92 might be the confluxes in WoE.
Spoiler: show
Unfortunately it's the only conflux .dat I can find, the one for Abyssea confluxes doesn't seem to be listed.
Well, I think it's a little soon to draw many conclusions besides "lolffwiki" from this data. If you look at your longest data set you'll see no evidence that the potency decreases at all.
It wouldn't actually take a ton of samples under the same conditions to come up with reasonable numbers for this. I would stick to dual-wielding if it's not much more work. You'll hit faster and collect more data that way, and the effects of Saber Dance on a single-wielding Dancer aren't relevant anymore.
I think that Motenten's parser (k-parser) had the multi-hit function added recently and that it's pretty accurate as long as you don't attack too quickly. I play on PS2, so this is where I leave you in terms of parser setup/use.

Some day I hope to graduate to a big boy computer so I'll be useful in situations like this, but as it is I'm stuck on the fat PS2.
Any suggestions for killing Imps? Assuming I cannot find anyone to team up with, I assume the Orderly Imps outside Hazhalm are my best bet, but wondering if I have any other options to me as I have to kill hundreds on Lightningsday (or during Thunder weather, but that can be really sketchy).
Moghancement Cooking, why the fuck can't I get it? I have my Cordon Bleu Set in my MH and I keep getting Moghancement Wind. Wiki says it gives moghancement of whatever was placed first so I took everything out and placed the Cordon Bleu Set first then added all my furniture back in and I'm STILL getting wind. HALP!
