People talking about the mysterious TH+1 waist piece--don't get too excited, THF can't wear the base piece at all (Tarutaru Sash).

Alright well, I have something that's probably known/acknowledged, but I'm going to ask about it anyway.
I've been doing Amano trials vs Biddybugs (Trial 2 @ vermin), going as SAM/DNC with Hasso up and Drain samba (Info is probably useless but just in case it matters in any way). After doing some rounds I realized since I've basically well over 100 TP by the time I'm ready to killshot, I might as well put on the Delay -3% grip.
So, I noticed that when my aftermath is up, I can still maintain my 6-hit, and I was wondering why this isn't something typically used since a lot of events revolve around either fighting 1 mob for a longer period of time, or switching mobs immediately. I was getting 15.something TP off of the WS, then ~17.something a hit with aftermath up. When it was up I would end up with 101 TP, down would be 98. I made sure I wasn't getting hit by the mob obviously for those few tries, nor was I recasting drain samba or any other dnc ability.
Gear currently consists of:
Amano / Sword Strap / Bow / Arrow
Turban / J.torq / Brutal / Bushi
Askar / Askar Hands / Ulth / Rajas
Forager's / Swift / Byakko / Usu Boots
Before any lolgear, yeah, I need to do a lot of work yet. Took a big break. Have dusk hands, just wanted placebo evasion.

Amano / Sword Strap / Bow / Arrow
Perle Hat / J.torq / Brutal / Bushi
Byrnie+1 / Alky / Flame / Rajas
Forager's / Warwolf / Shura.. / Rutters
Still waiting on that Gorget. Anyway. I was wondering if I should continue to use a setup like this with the Sword Strap for serious shit, if I know I can, for the most part, keep a 6-hit going. My aftermath was lasting me until I was back over 100%, so I was basically getting +6 the whole round.
As long as it doesn't disrupt your X-hit setup you should always be using sword strap.
That goes for any 2h job.
Assuming normal east rona S Krab pin: Let's say he's coming for you on YOUR side of the fence, and instead of doubling back like normal, he comes right up to you, stops N of you and starts to melee. Are you supposed to go out of the "triangle" and then back in? Was duoing and we both ran around like wtf where am I supposed to go to re-pin.
Use an aftermath set. Dusk+1 shoes w/ aftermath up. Usu shoes with aftermath down. It's not as big of a deal as an AM set for an Apoc, but it's definitely better than a sword strap, especially due to the fact it won't fuck you if aftermath is down (say pulls slow down, you get slowgad/elegied and a mage is slow erasing, get stunned/terrored/spend too long casting shadows, use a Gekko to silence, etc.
Placebo evasion is dumb, get rid of it. I'll cry a little at Askar body, but w/e in the end (least you're using a STP body). Assuming you're 80, you can probably drop Ult and TP in a Strigoi or STR ring. And replace the bow too...Gear currently consists of:

Won't bother commenting on WS gear, there's some pretty easy to get upgrades from abyssea though.
Main point of the post though - use an aftermath set.
While that's true, it does disrupt your build with an Amano due to AM not being 100%, so it is not the correct advice in this situation. Use Dusk+1 shoes (or Fumas if cheap) if AM is up.
Hm, it never hit me to do that. 1% haste is ~ the -3% delay? Or just simply better because of the fact that Aftermath isn't always up and its easier to rely on?
This isn't my usual gearset, this was just for soloing on the Vermin as /dnc. 297 evasion skill on SAM (So far, not capped, using Boxer + eva torque lol) and a few evasion pieces helps me keep hasso up full time and just use drain samba to cover any hits I take otherwise. I don't use the bow when I'm not soloing, got myself a thew bomblet the other night finally, been full timing that tbh, I don't fight much that's evasive anymore.
I might actually start up some salvage again and try for Usu body, I haven't decided yet. I'm wondering what kinds of upgrades the TotM will have for armor. I'm kind of hoping for a path system for certain gear, sTP being one of them.
Other than that, yeah, obvious upgrades are obvious. Work in progress. One thing though, TPing in a STR ring? I wouldn't have guessed that at all, been told not to from the start of my FF Career lol.
STR rings have always been the answer, as long as your accuracy could support it.
It's 1% haste and 2% da. And assuming you have marches+haste, it wins before even counting the fact you can swap feet based on aftermath unlike grip.
Depends on the situation, but most things you'll be capping accuracy on at lvl 80 (esp once you finish Amano upgrades), so an extra accuracy ring does nothing. We just basically gained tons of free accuracy, and most stuff didn't really gain much in lvls/evasion. You -may- still want an accuracy ring on some things in Abyssea, not even sure what TBH, but definitely not in Ein/Dyna/Limbus/etc/etcOther than that, yeah, obvious upgrades are obvious. I was actually referring to the Nauls, but deeper research OtherWiki suggests that that might be a bad idea, coolness aside.
Let me rephrase:...
1) Other than Crapaudies and vultures in La Theine, and Mandies and bats in Tahrongi, and Bugards in lolKonstat, what other mob types are out there that an average exp pickup group could go and fight and get about the same exp?
2) What's out there that you should definitely NOT send the average exp group out to?
k, Noted. I'll have to grab a pair when I see them up and have the money. I haven't actually worked on making money again since I've gotten really deep back into the game. Going to have to con some BLM's into getting me a Yovra organ. too.
lol Looking at myself with a flame ring in my TP gear, I feel like I'm /headdesking checking another player. The Stat+6 rings are cheapening up, I'm going to either buy one when they settle to a price I'm willing to pay, or do some ACP final fights until one of them spits out a STR+4 Att+something ring. I do have a STR+4 DEX+2 ring from the last round, maybe I'll use that until I get something better?
Christ, I have a lot of catching up to do. I might PM you over this week sometime to redo some of this shit. I appreciate the help.
Unfortunately it seems like Askar body is going to be staying a while unless I get myself an Usu body, which is unlikely at least for a while. Is there any body piece I'm overlooking?
baramnesra!
What are your other EXP options?
Tahrongi
-Coeurls (Do not have Torama-esque evasion, no crippling TP moves or AOE)
Konschtat
-Lizards (Close to entrance, mild AOEs)
Corpselights are a tossup in all 3 zones as while they are basically a joke if you silence them and keep them dispelled but the low HP agro can be an issue along with Ice Spikes if your mages are braindead.
Monsters to avoid? Largely the same stuff you'd avoid in any normal EXP party.
Konschtat:
Lizards
Bugards
La Theine:
Birds
Crapaudy
Tahrongi:
Bats
Coeurl
Lycopodiums
I know theres more but i'm drawing blanks and those are the only ones i can remember.
