Dear Syfy,

Nobody wants to see a show about a fat fucking con woman, oh, I'm sorry, "psychic", nor a show about looking at youtube footage of ghosts that will be so terrible it will make Ghost Hunters look scientific, nor do we want to see more Warehouse 13!

Seriously.

Haven is a stretch, but it's decent. The writers for Eureka stopped working about 3 years ago.

What the fuck is wrong with you these days, Syfy?

also, boingboing had as it's guestblogger of the week, a few months ago, someone that worked for Syfy, or one of the networks that had a number of "genre" shows, and they were writing up what things looked like from the inside. Hunt it down if you've a mind to.

hiring those big budget CGI teams for all the creature-but-really-big-and-eats-people made4TV movies really soak up resources, it's one or the other

I just finished myself. Even rewatched the past three seasons cause I got someone else into it. It took over a year to find time to watch every episode, and the filesize for all 14 seasons is a ballbreaker, but it's worth it, and now I have a huge chunk of hard drive back.

I have a 250g external that I use. Doesn't bother me much. It's one of those pocket ones that is like the size of an ipod. I love it.

Also, Syfy still sucks.

I like Warehouse 13

Even if it's mid tier show at best, I like the mix of supernatural with history and twists.

I think that's the only Syfy show I watch though (I watched the pilot + EP2 of Eureka and found it really boring).

Warehouse 13 is like a downgrade of the already B-class "Librarian" series with Noah Wiley. To me, anyways.

SGU is ok and the reruns of the Stargate series are ok.

I stopped watching SyFy when they stopped showing MST3K, and when they cut Farscape to show more Stargate (because there were so many good programs on syfy there just wasn't a slot open.

).

I list both btw, cause I can't remember which one happened last.

The movies are one of the few redeeming qualities. The creature ones anyways. Fuck the doomsday ones.

I love SyFy B movie days...especially the horror/zombie/creature ones.

But overall, SyFy is so meh now. Why did they ever have to change their name? I do enjoy some of their miniseries though, like The Lost Room, though they are few and far between. Overall just Caprica (when it's in season) and B movies now.

Lost room and Taken were beast. But I think Taken was ABC, so whatever. They played it in April during mini-series month.

The mini series were great, it's a shame that SyFy and the networks don't do them any more.
Lost Room, Tin Man, 10th Kingdom, Merlin, Dinotopia. Granted they do have bombs like Riverworld, Alice, etc.

They were supposed to do miniseries for Myst and Neal Stephenson's Diamond Age, but they got deep in development hell, and I blame the fuckers responsible for the wrestling, reality TV, and name change.
