lol, same thing for me. I always feel incredibly awkward if the guys handshake is like that of an 80 year old woman. I felt bad one time because I went in with the typical strong handshake and fail ensues, but I had momentarily forgot the guy had cancer and was doing chemo at the time lol. Oh well, I got burned one too many times early on getting my hand raped, it will not ever happen again.

I learned a long time ago that a firm handshake is a must. The only time it worried me was when i was interviewed by a very small lady. I didn't know what to do when her hand came out.... i went with about 50% normal hoping it wouldn't be too much but strong enough that she didn't think i was weaker than her. As i started i could tell i was going too hard and i seen in her face it hurt but i tried to play it off lol. I got the job but still to this day don't know how i should shake a females hand.

Also listen to the people about not smoking before or at least take some gum before hand (Don't go in with the gum in your mouth). Last interview i had the guy had ass breath, i knew i wasn't going to hire him right when he said "Hello". I didn't hire a girl also because she had gum and was smacking randomly throughout the interview.

Anyway for interview just do the following?

-Be truthful
-Maintain eye contact
-Ask about a card or some way to contact them
-Send a thank you letter or email.

Best two things I can recommend that haven't been said already: First, spend some time online and look up their company, find out something about its history, how their stocks are doing, know who you're applying to work for.

Secondly, have some questions ready to ask them, because they're most likely going to ask you if you have any questions when they're done asking theirs. If you come up with something before or during the interview to ask, it helps show that you're actually interested enough in their company to ask something about it.

Show good posture. Don't slouch, put elbows on table, etc. Maintaining this shows confidence. And yes, a firm handshake, but not too firm, is really good as well.

Do anything you normally to make yourself as relaxed and confident. My last job interview(9 years ago) I downed half a shot of tequila and brushed afterwards. My manager would go on to tell me that I was the most relaxed interviewee out of the lot.

So yeah, relax, just do it.

Oh! make sure your nails are trimmed and clean as well. If you get sweaty palms, dust them in baby powder or keep some tissues in your pocket that you can squeeze before shaking hands.

Hmmm... just make sure you wash your hands first, don't want him to catch a whiff of your cock after the handshake, but if for some reason he does, and approves of it, make sure to grip HIS dick firmly to show you're right for the "job".

If you need to drink to relax before you go to apply for a job, in my opinion, it's probably not the right field.

Yeah, everyone is nervous, but you either feel confident or you don't. If you can't bring confidence to the interview, you won't bring confidence to the workplace, and you won't succeed. Failure is a part of life, it's best to accept it and face it head on rather than dulling reality down with alcohol.

Everyone falls down. It's how quickly you pick yourself back up that matters.

I really don't like the drinking before an interview mentality, it really bugs me.

This is excellent advice. Interviewers find it impressive when interviewees ask them questions. I managed restaurants for the better part of ten years, and conducted hundreds of job interviews. Many of the ones who really stood out to me were those who showed at least some familiarity with the restaurant, and had intelligent questions to ask back at me at the end of the interview.

My current position required a bachelor's degree to even be considered for the first part of the interview process (phone). Did some linguistic tap dancing in the e-mail correspondence and nailed the phone interview. Ended up being the only person to get the position without either a bachelor's or associates degree (was in process of working towards associates).

What was the worst that was gonna happen? They tell me I'm not qualified?

People do have differing levels of anxiety though, so I can't say nervousness is outright nonsense, but I like to just look at it like it can't get any worse.

Ironically I've spent the bulk of the last 3 years unemployed, but for what it's worth that's solely because I don't have a degree and have a hell of a time landing the actual interviews because of it. I've been granted 6 interviews in my life, and walked out of all 6 with a job.

Same. I don't bother to fill out paper interviews ever anymore. I /NEVER/ get a call back.

Make sure you can get a face to face meeting, or phone meeting, or something one on one. Qualifications take a back seat in those situations.

Plan > communicate > progress

5) Prioritise workload -
Brings best benefit to the business - liaise with manager on method of prioritisation


Employers tend to look for:-
Trustworthy (eye contact) and Likeability (smile)

Say things like, Nice to meet you, I appreciate your time.

Introduce numbers in your answers!

LAST question they usually ask you : What progression in career do you see yourself in blah blah....
Generic Answer: In future, I would like to lead a team to produce good results.

Support each other, when one team member under pressure. Collaboration to produce results.

LASTLY, ask them a few questions about their company.

Bolded words are good to memorize.
