Red rocket, red rocket, red rocket!
Hurray for Fox News!
But uh wtf...kindergarten? really? To think you can explain/teach Sex Ed to a 5 year old is plain stupid.
Granted I didn't bother to watch the video (because lolFauxNews), but I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume the "sex ed" being taught is effectively "you have private parts, and if an adult wants to touch you there, you shouldn't let them." I'm perfectly fine with something like that being taught to kindergarteners.
I guess you missed the part where they will explain oral sex to 5th graders in my original text then? Just from that I doubt its going to be the 'touch you' part.
"Niiiiiiiiice".
Ok, ok, I didnt want to laugh at the vid, but I did... I'm going to hell. :/
And yeah, they did teach that, but in my day it wasnt 5th grade, it was more into the 8th grade.... I suppose I'm just old school. Makes me sick to think that they are going to try and teach my 6 year old about sex when she is still learning to read and color inside the lines.
When I was in 5th grade we had some sex ed from what I remember. And learned more in 7th. I know 5th grade might seem young, but with how young some kids are having sex it's probably better to tell them about alternatives to intercourse. All the under 18 pregnancies these days is getting out of hand.
Letting children know what is and isn't sexual is a good way to prevent them from getting involved in something that's not appropriate.
Sure, it can let them know what these things are, but at least they know it shouldn't be done against their will. How can children know to protect themselves from predators if they don't know what they are doing is not something they should do with just anyone?
We started in 4th and 5th grade in Europe. Can't say that teaching it to small children would be a bad thing but by kindergarten they honestly do not have enough of an awareness to care.
I'm pretty sure me and the neighbor girl were exploring our 'what are these for' bits under the bed at least by kindergarten.
I also had a video on sex ed-like stuff in 5th grade. If you think this stuff shouldn't take place until 8th grade you're a fool, kids start experimenting with that stuff in the 5th-8th grade ranges, it's better to inform them before than after.
Yeah, when I was 4-5 years old I remember doing this with another girl that my babysitter watched. Honestly one of my first memories.
I dont see what the point is in teaching that young. I mean my child is six, and watching their class play on space today I saw they intentionally left out Uranus just because nobody can say it without the entire school giggling. I can just imagine how sex ed would go down with them.
It's about damn time. If they are going to assault our children with subliminal messages in the form of thinly veiled intercourse metaphors like this one:

that teaches them they need to stick things in the corresponding holes, the least they can do is teach them how to do it safely.
A lot of them will still be giggling about it in college, so I don't see the point in holding back on account of that
