EU char -> US Client?

Hi everyone,

Primarily let me say I am very sorry to be posting this, here within this section but I couldnt find another place to put it?
So for that I am sorry, you have kept this forum exceptionally organised and I hope I am not tarnishing that.

I have tried Google and the Search function within the forums although with no sucess.

Everyone within this forum definetly seems to know what they are doing so I feel this is my best bet.

My issue is, I currently hold a EU character but have gained and installed the US client onto my computer. I was hoping for a very novice friendly 'tutorial-type' resonse to help me get back on my feet.

I need to reactivate my content ID which is an 'EU ID' but the US client doesnt seem to like that idea in anyway. I have a USC5000 Error when I attempt it.

Now I can log into my account without any problems, its just when I try to re-activate my ID the issue arise's.

I would appreciate the help greatly, the nostalgia I am getting waiting to play this game is amazing.

My only suggestion would be to download the EU-POL version. To be completely honest, I have no experience whatsoever in this, but I figure the error might be because of the POL version you are using, not the actual FFXI data. So go to the POL website and see if you can find the EU POL. If I am wrong, then sorry, it's the only suggestion I could come up with.

This is correct, to do any type of account maintenance (deactivating, reactivating, purchasing add-ons, changing billing info/CC #) you have to use the POL version that the account was set up on. Once you get all of that taken care of you can play on any version that you want. I'm currently playing a JP account on a NA client, but I have to keep the JP version of POL installed for whenever I want to make changes. Also, it's just POL you need, not the full install of the game and everything.
