OB October 13th

The Vindictus team is proud to announce that the Vindictus Open Beta will launch on Wednesday, October 13! At that time, all North American players will have the opportunity to join the battle against the Fomors, and Early Access Beta testers will be able to keep their characters along with any leveling, skills, items and gold they have acquired!

In order to prepare for the Open Beta, we will be closing down the service during our scheduled maintenance on October 5 at 10:00pm (Pacific)/ 1:00am (Eastern). Ending Early Access a little sooner than expected will allow us to address issues that have arisen during testing.

On behalf of the entire Vindictus team, we’d like to thank everyone who participated in the Vindictus Early Access Beta. We also appreciate your patience and good humor as we work out some of the technical difficulties we’re currently experiencing. The good news is that we’ve learned a lot from the Early Access Beta, enough that we’re ready to move on to the next step!

Here’s a look at some of what’s coming in Open Beta:

AINLE
Players will enjoy new challenges, new rewards and some of the scariest mobs and bosses they’ve ever seen in our new town Ainle, accessible from the boat on dock three.

“Something bad has happened in Ainle. Citizens flee from the once idyllic town with grim faces and haunted eyes. The Royal Army has shut the town gates and quarantined the area. Did the Fomors finally attack a human settlement? Perhaps, but there are whispers that something more sinister happened. Whispers from terrified refugees speak of dark magics and arcane horrors. Ainle needs heroes before what happened there spreads toward Colhen.”

CUSTOMIZATION
Players will enjoy hot new character customization options including a dye shop and a beauty shop with cool new hairstyles and facial features!

FISHING
Need a break from battle? Head over to the fishing dock and try to catch a big one! Fishing is a fun change of pace where players can take on new side quests without the danger of getting attacked by gnolls.


ITEM ENHANCEMENT
Strengthen your weapons and armor using Enhancement Stones!

GUILDS
Team up with your friends, or make new friends, by creating or joining a guild.

LEVEL CAP
The level cap will be raised from 26 to 38. You’ll need that extra strength as the battle gets tougher!

Vindictus, Nexon's upcoming free-to-play title, gained a lot of attention from the very beginning. The gritty gameplay is as far from Nexon's sugary-sweet MapleStory as you can possibly get, the opening story and look of the game are pretty good, and it's free.

Players have been enjoying the beta testing process, but as with any upcoming game, the big question has been "When?" G4TV provided that answer last night along with a brand-new (and ominous) trailer. The trailer contains both new and familiar footage, and it's gorgeous, but the exciting news is that we have exactly two weeks until launch.

Yep, Vindictus will officially launch on October 27th. The game is still in open beta for now, but if you're like most of us at Massively, the 27th is circled in red on your calendar.

EU beta should be November and not December. Easier to get the lag out of here quicker.

Avatar Shop

Players can purchase cosmetic items to customize the look of their characters using NX in the Avatar Shop.

Items in the Avatar Shop include hairstyles, facepaint, beards, scars, makeup and inner armor.

Within the Avatar Shop, players can also access a Dye Shop where they can change the color of their armor using in-game gold.

Players can access the Avatar Shop by clicking the Avatar Icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen or by visiting Clodagh at the General Store.



Supply Depot

Find all of the items you need in your battle against the Fomors at the Supply Depot.

Players can purchase many items using NX in the Supply Depot, such as Potions, Tokens, Goddess Grace, Storage Chests and more.

Access the Supply Depot by clicking the Depot Icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.

The Mercenary Report

Check the board in town near the Forge or the board near the docks to read the Mercenary Report.

The Mercenary Report contains info on all of the latest Vindictus info and events and will be updated frequently.



Voice Chat

Players will be able to coordinate their battles better by using the all-new in-game voice chat feature! To access Voice Chat, go to your Options, Click on the Audio tab and make sure to check the box that says "Enable voice in this game."



Bug Fixes

Fixed the issue where players could not use “ti” in their character name.

Updated the Curse Filter.

Resolved the issue where items from the gift box could get stuck in a player’s mailbox.

Fixed the issue where underage accounts could not see other players’ boats.

Goddess Grace for Beginners can now resurrect players under level 10.

Many Text errors have been corrected.

Various other bug fixes.

So, how do you get one?

• Log in to the Open Beta
• Head over to the Traveler’s Shop and speak with Kirstie.
• She’ll give you a special quest to bring her some items which will only be found during the Open Beta.
• Once you’ve completed the quest, you will receive a Gnoll Chieftain Hood for your character and a special title: “Swag Owner.”

We’ve also got a special gift for those fans who participated in our Closed Beta. The characters they log into during the Open Beta with will receive a special “Early Bird” title. Talk about bragging rights!

Ever since we unveiled them at E3, the signature red hoods based on the Gnoll Chieftain have been a huge hit with all of our fans. We had near-riots that erupted during our E3 giveaways and had huge crowds fill up an entire corner of the San Diego Convention Center during our raffles at Comic-Con. These furry red hoods have been the talk of the industry as one of the coolest and most unique swag items ever given away to promote a game.

Been a few hours now, still 50% and no estimated time... not sure if this will progress overnight. Wondering if I should just try again tomorrow =/

EDIT: I hit stop, and it asked if I wanted to resume the downloader later. I said yes, and it created a shortcut on my desktop. I opened it and after sitting on the downloader for a few seconds saying "Resuming", it closed out and went to the install part. Odd. I'll just let this part sit overnight then lol.
