Since Evie is coming out the 27th;
Alchemy Skills: Most of these can only be used with a staff.
- Mana Pistol - Summons a turret that fires at the nearest enemy. Shoots more bullets per barrage the higher the rank. You can only have two out at a time. You need an Alchemy Kit (Mana Pistol) in your quick slot to use this. (Makes for great support in my opinion. Distract something with a golem and put one or two of these down for some covering fire)
- Mercury Binding - Throw a bomb that explodes and releases sticky goo. Traps enemies. Not as effective against bosses or fliers. Duration increases with rank. You need an Alchemy Kit (Mercury Binding) in your quick slot to use this. (Never seen in action, I have no idea how good it is.)
- Summon Golem - Create a Golem out of nearby objects. The more objects you use, the stronger the golem. After X amount of objects, the golem transforms. Has another variant called the Fire Golem that does less damage but has more health. Any damage the golem takes will be shared with you (Your best alchemy skill. The normal golem can be summoned with a scythe, the fire one can't be.)
- Life Erg - creates life erg from an object. When ranked, you create more erg and each piece heals for more. (heals more health per cast that Heal and can be used as long as you have objects nearby.)
- Golem Mastery - Increases your Golem's move and attack speed. Decreases how much damage is transferred to you.
Spells: These can only be used with a staff equipped.
- Eagle Talon - While running, build up energy that can be used as a mine or forced to explode. Needs time to build up. (Knock them over with this then slam them with a Firebolt.)
- Magic Arrow - Shoots out a bullet of wind. You need a Magic Arrow Gem to use. Consumes stamina with each cast. Higher ranks create more bullets. (Your basic attack spell.)
- Firebolt - Creates a huge explosion. You need a Firebolt Gem to use. Needs time to cast and can only be used so often. Recovery removes the cool down, allowing a 2nd use. (Think Amaranth Kick, only bigger and harder hitting.)
- Icebolt - Shoots out a shard of ice that pierces your foe. Needs an Icebolt Gem to use, Can hit multiple enemies. (Never seen it, but sounds useful for large groups.)
- Healing - Restores an ally's hp. Needs a Healing Rune to use, each use partially uses up the gem. After 4/5 uses the rune vanishes. You can carry multiple runes. (Your going to need this.)
- Recovery - Removes the Firebolt cool down and restores your stamina. I think it needs a Gem to use. (Your going to need this if you want to use Firebolt.)
- Magic Mastery - Increases your Magic damage and lowers the stamina cost of all of the bolt spells. (if your going to be a caster, your going to need this.)
Scythe Skills - You need a scythe to use these. After a smash, hit the smash key again to cast the spell. (In order of appearance.)
- Drain - Sucks the life out of one hit foe. Heals you. (a good survival move.)
- Spirit Bind - Harvest the soul of a slain enemy and force it to fight for you. Creates a small wisp that helps you. (Transforms the bosses helpers into yours. Needs to be killed by the previous smash. Can only create one per smash.)
- Death Label - Places a mark on a hit enemy. The higher the rank, the more marks you can place at once and over a wider area. Hit smash again to activate the mark, causing it to explode. (This is your bread and butter during boss fights.)
- Bloody Thread - It's basically Death Label, but with a twist. Can instantly kill normal enemies. Number of foes affected, the range they are effected at, as well as the rate of death increase with rank.
All (I think) her spells.
Expected, but woo, Vindictus will be back to normal. Basically you get 150 tokens to burn every 2 days.

We’ve been watching and listening very closely this week as you’ve bandied Vindictus’ Token System back and forth. Given the seriousness of this issue, we’ve taken some unprecedented steps to make sure that any response we gave on this issue would be extremely well considered. After numerous internal discussions and meetings regarding this, we’ve even met with a select group of players to make sure your views were represented.
After considering many ideas, we’d like to announce the following changes to the Vindictus Token System:
Silver Token Giveaways
* Silver Tokens given away will be increased to 150
* Silver Tokens will now be refilled 3 times per week. Refills will occur every Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 10:00 AM Pacific.
Platinum Token Pricing
* Platinum Tokens prices have been reduced:
o 1 Platinum Token = NX 300
o 10 Platinum Tokens = NX 2600
o 50 Platinum Tokens = NX 6900
Players who purchased Platinum Tokens at the original prices will be given the difference in Platinum Tokens during the scheduled maintenance on October 26, 2010.
These changes become effective following the October 26, 2010 patch.
The Vindictus team would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Vindictus players who came to our office to discuss this issue. ohhh, this game is kinda fun. Just spend like 5 hours playing this game.
Now that Scythe Evie came out, got mine to 32 finally and had fun soloing polar bear with finger snappin.

Crappy PC is crappy, still fun to solo with Scythe.
Tried this game the last couple days and it's pretty damn good for a free game. The paid stuff doesn't even seem that intrusive. You can buy stuff, but it really doesn't seem necessary, at least not now. Good strategy, actually makes me WANT to buy stuff.
Question: Does Lann get more skills later? or is it basically just the same combos throughout? Just unlocked the secondary dash btw, I think I'm lvl 13.
Yeah when he gets his second weapon choice at 24, Twin Spears.
Thousand Needles gives a new combo finisher when you get it to Rank9. But for the most part, yeah, not really any new combos till new weapon.
From G-Star
Hit the boss so hard it knocked him out of the map and back into it.
Curious about the Ranger character. I'm assuming the big dude is coming first.
Nexon's official Karok demonstration. Holy shit. He supplexes and piledrives without a care.
I just started playing this after the pc gamer issue on it.....i was fairly surprised at its polish (i played dungeon fighter online....and while it wasn't crappy, it got boring really fast once you hit the grind, vindictus isn't like that so far for me.). I just have a question for you guys....is there some secret for a good connection? For some odd reason i can never get a good connection. Is it ports or something on my router? every other game works....idk.
Karok looks boss.
If you're playing in a group it depends on the group leader's connection, I believe.
Is the game under maintenance or something? It keeps going to the patcher, which would be normal but it's been doing it for roughly the last 3 days. I saw explanations for those with the patch, then the emergency maintenance, but now I don't see anything. I'm on the East server btw, if anyone knows what's going on.
Bit of a bump, but from what I'm reading, it costs 2->3->4 tokens to basically do anything outside of town? But the last update increased the maximum amount you can carry(and replenished) to 150? If you get refills 3 times a week then it sounds like 150 should be enough for an average player, it just limits the hardcore players right? Thinking about trying the game out and I just want to get all my facts squared away.
I don't know if its just me but my tokens always cap at 50. What i think is if you have dedication seals to spend, you can get more tokens past the 50 cap....but as far as i know, weekly token resets don't stack...which really kills it for me too, cause i'd probably prefer waiting til like sunday then grinding the shit out of the game, rinse and repeat...
In my early impressions Continent of the Ninth seems like a better game with funner combat. However, they are early impressions and the things I hear about bosses later on is pretty exciting. Too bad I don't think I have it in me to find out.

Bartylby on east server
I still play every now and then but I'm waiting on Karok.
When I saw the "Titanic Preview" I was all "SWEET JESUS IT'S KAROK" but it was just the Titan Raid.
