    Bitch and you shall receive:

    Attention, Mercenaries!

Does the cost of boat rides sink your mood? Do you want to explore foreign waters but feel landlocked by the Token System? Luckily for you, beginning April 20th, 2011 Vindictus is initiating its very first Token Takedown!

In celebration of reaching 85,000 fans on the Vindictus Facebook page, we will remove the Token System between April 20th and May 27th, 2011.

We also chose 20 lucky Facebook fans to receive NX codes totaling NX 200,000! See the winners!

If that sounds mouthwatering, consider this: if we reach 100,000 Facebook fans by May 25th, we’ll extend Token Takedown for an additional month and award additional NX codes!

Grab your gear and head to the docks, Mercenaries. Adventures await you!

***Note: During this time of the Token Takedown event, Crimson
Tokens and Platinum Tokens will be temporarily removed from the depot.
tl;dr: Token system disabled for the next month, possibly another month after that. I wouldn't be surprised if they turned it off permanently if this caused people to play their game more often.

    Other v1.25 changes at: http://vindictus.nexon.net/News/Cont...ontentNo=00Bsv

    Summary:
    * There's an easter event and it sounds grindy as fuck
    * Some new gear
    * New Lv60 boss fight
    * You can buy hair/body customization stuff that's permanent now (inb4 "Why the fuck wasn't it permanent before?"). They no longer have stats; instead you can buy these new badge things that give the stats separately instead.
    * Make a youtube video, win the equivalent of $25 off their cash shop
    * Repairing your crap costs less now

Oh awesome, I've been kinda sick but I totally glanced over the fact that there was another content update coming up. I keep losing interest in the game during long periods of no quests, 28-32 for instance.

I just logged in and holy shit staff Evie got a buff. I thought they were just making minor changes on how she works, but it's like 10x better now.

    - At first I didn't like the idea of them making Magic Arrow the regular attack because I could usually only fire 5 or so from full stamina pre patch. Well, it costs a lot less now, I can fire a truckload of them before running out of stamina (at least 10, maybe a little more). It also seems to do a little less damage, but not too much less (takes about 1 more shot than it used to take to kill weak mobs now, which isn't an issue at all with the lowered stamina cost).

    - Firebolt's recast is ~5sec now. It does a little less damage, but it's still the strongest spell I have by far. It also has a ton more range than before, so you don't have to practically hump bosses to hit them with it anymore. The only downside is it doesn't explode by itself if you don't hit anything now, so you actually have to aim.

    - Healing is waaaay better. Each cast spawns about 5 wisp things around you; each will heal anyone nearby for about the same amount as one cast of heal did before. Also just takes stamina now instead of healing runes. So you can actually cast it then go back to blowing shit up instead of being locked in the heal animation. When you need a heal, just run to wherever you cast it and go back to what you were doing.

    - Mana shield is actually a skill now. I'm only 21, so I could only upgrade it once, but first upgrade went from 5 shields to 10 shields. Next upgrade is Lv36.

I actually liked playing staff Evie before, but she's a ton more fun to play after this patch.

I Just got into this the other day. I'm playing as Fiona and its really fun. Its hard as shit to counter attack though. I need to practice a lot more with Guard and stuff though. I usually just try to dodge and roll all the time and completely forget about guarding.

    What does it do?

Nvm Just saw it on Youtube. It reminds me of an ability that is in a former Nexon game, Nexus TK. Rouges had an ability to move to the opposite side of an enemy which was useful because when you were invisible and you attacked something from behind you did mega damage. Rouges spent most of their time just spaming invisible and that move while attacking.

Also, What level are you guys? I just got to lvl 25. Waiting till I level up to throw on the Savage leather Armor. Shit looks cool. Cant wait till I progress further though Armor looks amazing in this game.

I'm 32, Vanirra ingame. Scythe Evie gets a bunch of eye candy moves, but staff evie is better DPS last I heard. Either way you don't really get to see numbers or anything so I don't care about numbers.

I'm still Juro on West. 51 Lann atm, but god dammit 52 is being a pain in the dick to get to to continue at a decent pace again. Hoping their next big patch is Karok + Episode 7.

    Bumping for those interested.

Episode 7 has been announced and they're giving previews all week.

Not much for them to preview in Episode 7 so I'm betting their biggest preview is the announcement of the Burly Manbeast Karok.

    Attention, Mercenaries!

A few months ago, the Vindictus team asked for your help. We wanted to reach 100,000 Facebook fans by May 25, 2011. Not only did you answer our call, you did so in fine style, achieving the 100,000 fan milestone before the deadline. In return, we promised you two token free months in which you could get on any boat you wanted, any time you wanted.

The response to this program was so positive that after considerable internal discussion, the Vindictus team has decided to eliminate the Token System from Vindictus permanently – effective immediately.

The initial concept behind the Token System was to help players regulate their gameplay and keep a lid on a developing economy. We didn’t want the market being flooded with items from higher level missions that might fuel gold farmers or influence others to bypass missions. As the game has developed however, it’s become clear that there is now enough content in game and the player base and economy is now mature enough that this is no longer an issue.

Once again, the Vindictus team would like to thank the entire Vindictus community for your support as the game developed. We look forward to playing the game with you all for a long time to come!

Now grab your gear and head to the docks, Mercenaries. Adventures await you!

    -The Vindictus Team-

Please note: We will be announcing more details regarding how this change will affect current tokens held by players and current in-game systems.

    Attention, Mercenaries!

Woe unto the doubters, and a pox upon those who disbelieve in the beneficence of the Goddess! We have prayed for a miracle and lo, he is come – a giant from the south! His name is Karok and he arrives on June 15, 2011!

    Meet Karok

Karok hails from the Herdlands, a mysterious plain far to the south of Colhen and Rocheste. Only fragments of legends come from that part of the world, tales of a mysterious race of nomadic giants slow to anger yet terrible when their ire is raised. Indeed, prior to his arrival, many “sophisticated” northerners scoffed at tales of giants. Now that Karok walks among them, his presence raises almost as many questions as answers. Why is he here? Why has he thrown in his lot with the people of Colhen and Rocheste? Where are the rest of his people?

Karok himself provides no answers. While he is reserved, he is by no means unfriendly. Give him a smile and he’ll offer one in return. Chat with him about the weather, the war, or the finer points of battle technique and he’s as garrulous as the next man. Ask him about his past or where he comes from though, and you’ll be pushed off with that same smile and silence.

    Play Karok

Karok is a giant of a man. In the real world he would stand approximately seven feet tall and clock in at about 400 pounds. In-game, his character model towers over the other playable characters in terms of both height and width. His primary weapon when he starts out is an enormous pillar that he swings around and smashes enemies with. As the player levels him up, he will be able to swap out the pillar for a huge hammer. He also uses his fists for a number of grabs, parry and blocks. He will be about to wear the heaviest armor from level one.

The upside of Karok’s huge size is the enormous amount of damage he can cause. Even basic attacks can send regular enemies flying across the battlefield. He’s also the only character with a Parry skill that can actually block a boss’ attack! Whether bare-handed or armed with weapons, Karok is an amazing character to play solo and can offer lots of damage potential or shielding during raids.

Of course, Karok has his challenges as well. Players should not expect him to dominate the game – he will still need help from Lann, Evie and Fiona! First, he’s quite a bit slower than other characters. He also has no AOE attacks. That means he may have issues with quick moving creatures or multiple weak enemies (think: spiders!). If you’re playing with a Karok, your best bet is to keep the trash off him while he focuses on the biggest thing in the area. If you’re playing as a Karok, look for the biggest thing around and smash it first. Then smash everything else!

So Tomorrow is the big update that finally adds karok, now would be a good time to download the game in preparation if you have never played before. Its going to be very active for new players. Just remember though vindictus is currently only avaliable in USA/Canada and don't proxy into it cause the games Peer to Peer system will murder you with lag.

For EU bros the game is going to have a Q4 release this year apparently.

Also in case you haven't learned yet the token system has been removed forever. Read this to -

Vindictus EU eventually. At least this till get majority of the EU players off the current NA version. I keep wanting to come back and play, but the lag suffered from the start w/ eu bros was unbearable.
