FFXIV Random Speculation/Question thread IV: I got beta inv but my 5 year old PC can't run it

Glad to see they've pretty much fixed the ATI issues, game is running significantly better for me. It still stutters a bit in crowded areas but it doesn't come to the absolute crawl that it did before. Still having a few login problems, but hopefully I can get some actual playtime in this time around.

You can't equip abilities if you go over your point limit, if you've played Blue Mage in FFXI it's very much similar to that.

are you in the process of doing guildleve? I found that this may also prevent you to set action bar. Just now when I just finish one of the guildleve, while haven't return it yet. I'm unable to set a new skill until I report to crystal

Maybe thats the problem I was kicked out during a leve but it says its been cancelled so I'm not sure.

Not a hoss by any stretch of the imagination, but the game is running really nice. Hotel I'm in at the moment has a multimedia hub connected to the HDTV in the room, so I'm playing on output to the TV at 720p.

cant figure out how to get my ps3 controller to work with this. its detected as a gamepad but doesnt respond to commands

Hope it isn't just me but this seems far too lag infested to really make any progress. If I can manage to find an unclaimed mob out in the field the 3-5 sec delay between input to action means someone will usually run up and snatch out from under me. Did my 3 leave quests that it let me do (which for some reason weren't lagged at all) and that's all I could manage.

Also, since no one in the game will actually talk outside of trolling, are abilities learned automatically from going up in skill ranks?

Can't find the market place either. Don't see it on the map.

Yes, when you rank up, part of the log is that you've learned the new ability.
However, you do have to manually add it to your skill bar.

Look up Motioninjoy. It's a bit of a pain to setup, but it worked for me.

No, Sony wrote drivers that only allow you to charge the controller. You need to get third party drivers to get them to work. Motioninjoy is the only driver set that works on x64. There are a couple others that work with x86. Motioninjoy also works with bluetooth on the computer though if you use the bt dongle for anything else, it wont work after you install the drivers.

There's a roegadyn on the upper level of the blacksmith/armourer's guild that sells blacksmith main and secondary arms. Well, the level 1 versions.

Set the gamepad to Analog Gamepad 1(POV,joysticks)
Instead of Digital Gamepad(Dpad,without joystick)

Should be a list of options in the program with things like PoV, joysticks, analog triggers, etc. Select your controller, check the one you want and hit enable.

Also, my controller isn't detected by FFXIV if I turn it on after I've opened the game. This my second night where after FINALLY getting in, I have to log out, turn my controller on, and go back in, and get a few more 13001.
