FFXIV Random Speculation/Question thread IV: I got beta inv but my 5 year old PC can't run it

I'm about to but I wanted to figure out why it is doing it. Sucks because unlike last time I am getting really good download speeds until it just stops at 36.2%(my new least favorite number).

Did you reboot your PC? Dont ask me why but it fixed it for me, and a few others that were getting stuck in the same place. And had to do it again when it was installing. Kept getting stuck at 38%

Did you delete the patch files prior to restarting?

I actually want to test this game and the only people I know who are getting on are "teehee look at my mithra" types lol.

I did, several times. Canceled, deleted patch files to restart it, and it stops at 36.2% again.

I downloaded 7.14.2000 with utorrent and it worked, that % is about the end of the first patch and the start of the second.

Got in, although leves didnt reset since last beta test. I guess this is an all grinding session. sigh

Stutters aren't as bad but still there on 5850. ;/

they mentioned a temporary fix for ati cards, probably be a better one next time around

although on 5870 I don't notice it anymore.

Same for me by the looks of it the bloody lobby server just gives timeouts and errors for me -_-. And i just got in for the beta D:

With such a small patch (5mb), it's likely that basically everyone is pulling from the host, which could account for all these errors. I got the patch literally 5 minutes after it was posted by chance, and it downloaded and installed quietly without any problems.

[e] On the off, though, it's probably safe to say that ffxiv.com is definitely not hosted on the same bloc as finalfantasyxiv.com given the problems the dev site is having, but leaving the player site (and commercial site) unhindered. Not sure if that is obvious to the IT people, was new to me.

Anyone have the complete FF14 download + all the updates?

I was getting a 20524 error after downloading & it started to install, but got to 69%.
While downloading it randomly stopped working and i had to restart it, probably caused the problem?

Uninstalled everything and re-downloading again... (/sigh)
