Holy shit, I upgraded to a new weapon (lv1>23) and I'm completely tearing monsters apart. Huge differences after just one piece of gear upgrade.

I bought the level 26 fists (upgrading from the level 1 fists), you can't believe how gratifying the upgrade in accuracy was, even if it was scaled down to my level.

edit2: For Pugilist weapons you go the Western Hawker's. There's one for Lv23 and one for 26.. I probably should have saved another 3k for the 26 one brand, but I was too lazy and no leves available.

Not sure if this has been asked before but... is there anyway to check on the progress of my Shield skill? I don't have any abilities for it and I'm sure I've gotten enough skill for it to go up at least a rank or two.

Meko asked me in PM for some insight in regards to those complaints; figured I'll post it here and see what you guy's take on it is:

Controls - I play with a PS3 controller and it works the same way it did in FFXI. I've no complaints about that. My friends that play with keyboard on the other hand say their experience is not very good. Targeting mobs is a annoying, camera controls are clunky (its on "ijkl" now instead of arrow keys). My friend, Ragnard's, biggest complaint so far is that Curing or Casting turns into a "gotta move the camera fiasco" rather than just targeting someone with F2.

Interacting with NPCs - Slow and rather archaic. Cannot talk on chat while talking to any NPC.

Looting System - Retarded. Mostly due to the fact that theres so much spam in the logs and no "real" indication of something in the loot pool. Loot pool is access by going into your inventory and is automatically distributed or rolled on there.

Passive/Active modes - Many many problems with it. Cannot invite people that are in "active" mode. Cannot invite people that are in combat. Cannot invite people while in combat. Cannot join a party unless everyone is in Passive mode. Cannot invite people unless everyone is in Passive mode.

Lack of guildleves and armor upgrades. 48 hour lockout on quests is way too long. Theres really nothing else to do once you're done with what few leves are available but grinding.

Considering it's the same development team..chances are they already know..as outlined in upcoming implementations they already know certain things are missing from this build that will be in the next phase.

I know people don't give SE any credit..but they aren't ones to take a step back like that..especially when it comes to their main IP.

Don't think he's saying that you shouldn't let them know, but rather that they've stepped backwards because even FFXI didn't have these problems, which is what makes me think that these are just unfinished issues with the game rather than stuff that will be in retail, but you guys should still suggest they fix this shit and even add suggestions. Can't count on SE for shit, so you gotta tell them what to do.
