Oh it's definitely not facerolling provokes and GLD seem to be getting alot of nifty skills for holding hate. I haven't tested the class myself but my friend is enjoying it alot so far. By the look of things it's only Provoke/Taunt that'll really help if you've lost hate though since Phalanx (GLD) relies on you blocking hits and Jarring Blow (PUG) relies on you evading them. Then again we haven't gotten far enough to say for sure how it'll work in the end.
I have, and it doesn't stop the mobs from spawning.
I caught a rat with the heavy thrust bind during a guildelve last night and when I killed him, the other chigoes spawned at where he would have run off to anyway.
I was hoping that they'd reward you for cutting off a mob by ending the leve right there, but at least for that leve, they did not. I had to run up and kill the rest of them.
So does anyone have a list of what class learns what skills when and what they do?
I don't want the purists yelling at me again about infecting the game with the plague of casual content. I'll pass, thanks. Just keeping a personal tab, as well as a log of beta submissions, of things I don't feel are up to snuff.
We have an update regarding the issue on Jul. 14 where newly created characters were being distributed disproportionately to the Kefka World.Almost as interesting as proper surround sound. I'm at a loss for words. There was an issue where newly created characters were being distributed disproportionately to Kefka World until Jul. 14, 2:30 (GMT).
Currently new character creation for Kefka World has been temporarily suspended.
Most of the characters created are on Kefka World. If you feel that the world is too congested, please delete your current character and recreate another character.
After the Jul. 14 Beta Test, world selection will be available at the time of character creation.
* The ability to create characters on the Kefka World has been reinstated as of Jul. 20.
Others have already responded to your side note, but I wanted to add something small, I haven't tried this since Alpha, because in the Beta I haven't actually had a chance to do any levequests that involve chasing mobs, but in the alpha if you pin and kill the fleeing mob, not only did the enemies still spawn, there was no indication on the minimap of where to go, may have been a one time glitch. Either way, it seems un-advantageous to pin them.
In the beta, if you kill the leve mob before it reaches where ever it was going then you get new circle on minimap.
You can't see circle on minimap if its on another level, however you can still see it on main map.
Sorry if this is slightly off topic right now, but I was wondering if anyone figured out a decent way to get class skill ups for conjurer (and probably thaumaturge as well) in solo play. I have read the thread and I know it has been mentionned that curing/buffing does not generate massive skill ups, if any at all, but what about the offensive abilities such as spells and if they do, is it the mp system as it is implemented in the beta that tends to create this disparity in leveling between melees and mages? And if it is, is it something that is getting a lot of feedback in the beta forum?
I was also wondering what was the survivability of mages this time around? Are they as squishy as they were in ffxi or do they solo decently in ffxiv?
Took me 10 minutes to find the little Bogy underground, wasn't aware that would happen.
Something else I noticed today leve monsters will follow you till the ends of the earth just like in FF11, normal mobs won't.
They are generally slower than you so you can always run back to some Aethrite if you get in trouble.
So, I got to try out the retainer system for a little before the servers went down.
Yeah...
At what point did SE think this would be a good idea? The whole thing is just plain horrible. I really, really hope this doesn't end up being the main way to buy and sell items. I don't think even adding a search feature would fix it.
Agree'd the whole concept is time consuming and not very intuitive, think it should be scrapped, the idea of having someone to hold on to your items isn't a bad one (not much different than a moogle really though)
But the way the marketward works currently is just a joke, I pray they give us a standard AH option.
