just got some more and interestingly: 3 iron ingots can make an Iron Lance Head. is it ok for me to hang on to these ingots for a bit longer so i can experiment with more things?

1 Iron Nugget -> Iron Needle (Rank 20 Weaver tool)
2 Iron Nuggets -> Iron Nails
3 Iron Nuggets -> Iron Awl (Rank 25 Leatherworker secondary tool), Iron Round Knife Blade, Iron Pickaxe Head
4 Iron Nuggets -> Iron Cross-pein Hammerhead
5 Iron Nuggets -> Iron Dagger Blade
6 Iron Nuggets -> Iron Ingot (obviously)

will add more with ingot combos in a bit

More edits as i find them:

1 Iron Nugget + 1 Iron Ingot -> Iron Gladius Blade, Baghnakh Talons, Iron Lance Butt
3 Iron Nuggets + 1 Iron Ingot -> Iron Saw Blade, Iron Claw Hammerhead
2 Iron Ingots -> Iron Spearhead, Iron War Axe Head, Iron Sledgehammer Head, Iron Scythe Blade
3 Iron Ingots -> Iron Lance Head, Iron Labrys Head

any other combinations haven't worked with 3 or less ingots, might be more with 4+ ingots

Really? And I just started leveling Smithing again... at 16 and I have nothing to look forward to. Thanks for trying. Are you planning on getting to 19 anytime soon?

kinda doing so at the moment, but it's getting hard to just do a session on it now, trying to get mining up too so my iron nugget/ingot synths are funded enough. am like 3 or 4k into rank 18, so it will take a while too

still arrowheads and the occasional iron ingot synth, it's still a very cost effective way since i get 400-500 points from arrowheads while i get 800 from things like brass weapon parts

Got a mining question. I'm lvl 11 now and I've been running around for about an hour today near Bearded Rock. Lay of Land crushes my pc so I just run to points I know but all I get is "You can no longer" and I cant mine any of the points. I found some spots where you can quarry and I've been using them to skill up. Is there a mining fatigue or is that a glitch or am I just getting unlucky?

Think it's an exhausted point, but someone else of possibly a lower? level might be able to mine there was my best guess. Came across it too, and today Lay of the Land II was actually working for me without killing my PC - too bad the times I crashed on it I was actually doing a guildleve.

I just learned that yesterday and finally was able to finish some leaves. I tried mining in skull valley also but had similar problems. Guess just gonna wait for some guildleves to replenish, they always good skillup and its nice you can keep stuff other than the targeted item.

Level 19 Smithing can't make Iron Spear Head yet either. Hoping that it's at 20, since Bronze Spear Head was at 10.

It is an exhausted point. I don't understand how they pop up and it's always the same few trees. Also, never seen one pop when 2 people have been logging the same area. (I understand there is a difference between Botany and Mining, but you get the point) What I mean is that it appears that if you run an area out of wood, the same tree will sparkle and tell you it's empty. Saw this happen once in Grade 1 area, and 2-3 times in Grade 2 areas (The trees in the center part of the Airship area near Skull Valley for instance)

I am also thinking that being on a guildleve will limit what items out of a grade you can get. Still have yet to hit Pine Branch or Cedar Log from Grade 2 areas while on a Leve, but not on a leve, I hit them quite often.

I don't think there are Grade 3 leves yet, and only 17 so can't really test that area.

Anyone else notice that trend?

Got a Pine Branch during a leve yesterday iirc. First time that happened.

Never seen a Cedar log, but I'm just rank 11 anyway.

I could be wrong. Will be paying more attention during tomorrow's leves. Been needing Branch and Cedar Logs for Woodworking and frustration mounts during the leves. Also, I usually do the "Find 3 X items" leve in one tree. So, skill seems dependant.

I suppose this thread is more for Hand jobs than Land jobs though, so will drop speculation there.

Didn't see it anywhere else but the OP but the Bronze Axe Butt is a Bronze Plate x1 not bronze ingot x1 + bronze nugget x2

All of the nodes around bearded rock where like this yesterday on golbez before the server crashed, then they all started working again. Not sure what glitches them, but you need to reboot the server to fix it. Time to find a major bug somewhere and crash it.

I did notice if someone is already logging/mining a point and you come up and start doing it too, when they run out of attempts it will kill yours regardless of how many tries it says you have left.

It seems to me like nodes have a certain number of total attempts plus an additional set. Like, if a tree has 10 chops, and if I chop something 5 times, then someone else chops something 5 times, it'll disappear. But, suppose I chop it 3 times out of 7 chances, and someone else starts. By the time we get to 10 total chops (when the tree would normally disappear), I'll still have 1-2 more left, but it won't disappear until one of us finishes our last few chops. Once we do, it'll kick everyone else out.

That could be totally wrong though, if anyone has some more insight into how it could work, it'd be interesting to hear.

Would be a little tough to test. If you had two loggers of equal level and you could find a tree off the beaten path you could play with, maybe try getting one person started and then use the other to run out and see what happens.

Of course, could just be beta bugs lol.

Out of interest to people in their teens with DoH jobs, if you were to do all your synths back to back, how long would it be taking per level (time wise not # of synths) on average?
