Ethers are only 222 from clan merchant, so I spam those into oblivion when I really need mp.
I have the mage bubble themselves doing random crap, then do it to Ally: Any for boss fights/though areas. If you've a BLM having them buff in downtime is nice, Warmage usually takes care of MP problems.
If my White Mage is low on mp I just make her use syphon and take my Samurai's mp.
Speaking of Samurai, do the magic lores increase katana damage?
I wish you could set up a gambit for Syphoning other characters when their own MP is low.
already planning on my second run with more jobs and stuff. I realize now that my second run will be harder. My knight has a deathbringer which is really giving me a major advantage so idk how the second run will be
Same here, already planing on a 2nd run ... not gonna bother with weapons/gear i can't equip with my current setup:
Vaan - Hunter
Penelo - White Mage
Fran - Uhlan
Balthier - Machinist
Basch - Archer
Ashe - Time Mage
So yea ... no Great Swords, Great Katanas, Staves etc.
Think for my new run i'll try to get a New Game+ (you start with lv80 or something?) and do a setup like:
Vaan - Samurai
Penelo - White Mage
Fran - Black Mage
Balthier - ???
Basch - Breaker
Ashe - Knight
No idea what Balthier should be ... i tend to use Machinist again ... but then again ... <.<' Any suggestions?
You already have 3 strong melee classes and a Black Mage so why add a not Red or Time Mage? White Mage tends to be overloaded with cures, bravery, faith, protect, shell, esuna and dispel spamming so another support mage would balance things out a bit. Time mage lets you have easy Ribbon farming as well as early Slow and Berserk access, while Red Mage is a decent healer and a pretty good nuker as well (plus it gets a funny mace with 100% Sap and Disease proc rate).
Can you play the international version on a PS3?
no
Just did Hell Wyrm, these fights are thrilling. I haven't had this rush feeling on a boss fight since doing my 1st-7th kill on Vrtra on XI years go. Im really happy with the turn of events on this game and can't wait for Yaizmat. Once I do Yaizmat i'm going to hop onto Tactics.
I'm torn between giving Chaos to:
Monk = Protectga, Shellga, Holy, Esunaga
or
Red Mage = Ultima Blade
I'm leaning more towards Red Mage since I fucking hate maces and it would be its only other option unless I eventually fork over Zodiark to give him a Ragnarok, screwing my Time Mage out of a Durandal/A.. another bridge to cross when I get there. If Ultima Blade on a Red Mage would ultimately be replaced by something like Bone of Byblos, I don't want to bother and I'd rather have a Monk to Protectga/Shellga relieving someone else'd MP from the duties. How great can a mace really be?
Also, I agree on boss/hunts/espers being actually fun now. I'm finding Espers I should be incredibly over-leveled for somewhat of a challenge due to the battlefield restrictions. It can really hose you if your job combination doesn't mesh well with it. Zeromus rendered my Black Mage nearly useless and Exodus was stressful when my only person with Raise took a Scathe to the face. I've learned that, even after excessive grinding, I still need to save often.
P.S. Just got my Tournesol for the first time... It's pretty ugly...?
Just did the Seer. Talk about a long ass quest, and the Seer himself was harder then i thought he would be.
Almost done with this game. Going to do Ultima to bring my esper count up to 10, go get the Zodiac spear the hard way, level 3 dudes to 99, kill the rest of my hunts, kill Yaizmat and then Omega Mk 12
BTW did they nerf Omega in the NA release? I saw a video of him only having 1 hp bar and being killed in 8 min. If so, I'll be disappointed...
In the original NA release his HP was severely nerfed yea (I think 1/10th).
I assume he's the same in this version as the regular JP one.
How are are y'all playing it if it's jp only
I am having so much indecision regarding Esper licenses... I would like to see each job at their fullest potential, but I'm feeling like Ashe's Knight is going to be the most pimped due to having a Tournesol and all...
Trango Tower (153 atk 1-handed sword, 30% combo chance and 25 charge time) > Tournesol in the international version and all jobs can equip it. It's annoying to get (rare steal from Zodiark) but worth it.
