I just started seriously playing through the International version a few weeks ago thinking something like this would be yeeeeeeeears off.
Oh well... I ended up getting pretty busy and not able to proceed (at henne mines) so maybe I just won't go back to it.
Damn. I dont know if i will enjoy the IZJS or not. I have it downloaded and i barely played it, i chickened out as soon as i got to look at the job system and saw that picking one locked me out of others.
But totally hyped for a 12 remake. This game was fucking gold. the only reason i havent replayed it is the graphics kind of hurt my eyes too. I guarantee you they will do soemthing to keep you from looking up ashes skirt
Never got to play IZJS, so I'll take a PS4 remake! I would have shit my pants if I was at that show. Sakimoto is one of my favorite composers of all time.
PS4 IZJS remake would be amazing!
and a version that doesnt have to compress the audio till the quality is crap would be fantastic
Can we talk about how great FFXII's final boss music was?
I love it all, man. Its just for me that final boss track was so amazing only one in the series I can remember that actually starts 'before' the final boss battle actually begins. The start of it was perfectly choreographed to the cutscene before the fight and made a perfect transition into a combat theme once it actually started and incorporated both the Dalmasca Eastersand theme and theme of the empire together, so damn good and so damn fitting since the final battle wasn't actually necessary for the main plot (being that Venat wins regardless) but more for personal reasons. Ain't no damn way the crew was coming all the way from Dalmasca to just leave things as is.
All of this (and more) contained within that track. Bruh.
I personally cannot wait to do the hunts again. heres hoping they add in a few extra :D or at least some kind of extra content
FFXII Int definitely should have added a few more (strong) hunts because they added some really OP weapons to the game. Extremely OP weapons.
That said, I hope you'll enjoy trial mode as well. And they should also rebalance the jobs since Weak Mode is an actual thing... I really feel like they should try to make each job actually viable for it but as is some jobs are just absolute trash in Weak Mode.
XII has so many good tracks. I can waste dozens of hours just exploring, farming, and appreciating the level of detail they put into the environments. Really hoping that the remake/remaster announcement is confirmed and that we get a FF9 HD remake at some point too.
SE had been teasing this for years; the first mention I can remember was when X/X-2 HD were announced and SE said that if they did well that they'd like to do XII. Makes total sense given the deluge of PS2 era HD remakes we've seen in recent years. There's a lot less work in updating the resources from a PS2 era game than say a PS1 era one.
I'm not sure how I feel about the music in XII; not a lot of the tracks stand out to me but the atmosphere was incredible. I can only pick out a handful of tracks that I could actually hum along to; the rest just have great ambiance.
Ever since I bought the Artifact collection Gabranth helmet, I've wanted to cosplay the whole suit. This announcement just makes me want to do it even more. Time to buy a shit load of Worbla and yoga mats, right? lol
I personally farmed like a mother fucker in that one jungle farming couerl pelts. i was never broke again. i had like a 6000 chain.
Mirror Knights were my farming mob of choice. I also enjoyed poking around the higher level areas you could access early on, far before you're meant to go there, and seeing how far I could push the game.
Mirror Knights were great, if I didn't relegate myself to playing LLG/Weak Mode these days I'd probably use it. I tend to do all my farming too early in the game for my lowbie characters to be able to even do that since all of my important purchases come in right between the sandsea section and the stillshrine.
This has become my farming area of choice. (My video even shows me doing it as a Lv3 BLM so you can even see that this is possible no matter how strong, or not strong, you are)
The teleport stones and float motes are also just a bonus.
Didnt like the battle system, dont care.
To clarify, it was too big of a departure from the other FFs and I just couldnt get in to it.
I eventually just did the afk level method above to finish the game.
PS. Fran >
It was an offline final fantasy 11 complete with NMs and HNMs. I fell in love with it when it came out during my 11 playing days.
Anyone else think it's weird that the token black character in the game is literally a jungle bunny?
I liked that the gambit system was basically "If u know what you're doing and set it up right, you can let the game play itself".. Which was actually a good thing in XII cos you get a fuckton of trash mobs, unlike say XIII, which also plays itself but doesn't even let you automate as much. But even so you can exploit it so much with all the fancy combos like reverse-decoy and niho-remedy.
I'm personally looking forward to the cutscenes cos I loved that it felt like I was watching a play, or something with believable political intrigue. Also liked the VA, especially with balthier and Ashe.
That and also the zodiac job system would be interesting in differentiating the characters
XII came out during a weird time when I was still heavy into XI and not much else, and I was also just starting college/working and living on my own. I played it to finish, once, but I honestly don't remember most of the details. I remember getting towards the end of the game, almost giving up in that one huge ass dungeon that took me fucking FOREVER to get through. I think it was the one where Reddas joined you for a bit.
