    Steel Series 3H Headset

    http://www.steelseries.com/us/produc...3h/information

Anyone have any experience with this brand, or headset in particular? And/or have any recommendations for better headsets in a similar price range? Mainly to be used for PC gaming, ventrillo, RTS (Starcraft 1/2), and fulltime use. It's for my little brother, he pretty much never uses PC speakers so this thing will be attached to his head 24/7 and will need to be both durable and comfortable. He goes through like 10 headsets a year, I swear.

I used to have the 5H, Steelseries is pretty much epic when it comes to Headset, comfortable, good support service.

Siberia model isn't too bad either / Sennheiser and Icemat are pretty good aswell but expensive.

Steelseries 5H was my last headset and was pretty awesome. Broke after dropping a few too many times though and been using Astro A40s which are pretty top tier.

Not sure how good a $30 headset can perform/fit, but if your brother goes through that many headsets a year then it beats blowing $250 for a headset that gets chewed up just as fast.

Not very well, but as you said it beats blowing $250 on a very good one.

I go through 5 pairs / year so I know how it is.

I can't say anything about the H series headsets from Steelseries, but I've had the Siberia neck headset and it was uncomfortable.
The audio quality was medicore, but for a gaming headset it suffices.
My friend's Siberia Full headset isn't too bad for comfort, only starts to hurt my ears after 2 hours of gaming.

If you have the money, good soundcard, and enjoy listening to music, I would suggest getting a Sennheiser HD600. They're extremely comfortable, amazing sound quality, and worth every penny.
They should be pretty cheap now consider how old the model is, but it's still my favorite.
I've taken them to many LAN tourneys and they're still in great condition. I've only had to replace the cord recently after ... 6 years of use.

For vent use only, it's a decent 30$ headset... however my steelseries died after about a year of use, and it was a better model.

Just remember, you get what you pay for, and for less than 100$, you aren't going to get great audio quality for music. For vent/teamspeak only however, it'll work for a while.

Thanks for the replies . Yeah, I'm not contributing any money towards the headset. I recently upgraded my PC so I don't have much/any spare cash on hand. My little brother is just giving me $40 to shove into my checking account so I can order a headset online for him. It sounds like the 3H will hold up fine for what he needs it for.
