Pretty sure they did. He took the crown off but still called marceline gunter. He also retained the ice king look.

I wonder what the significance is with The Ice King (or the crown) and Gunther. If I remember correctly Gunther is a girl, gave birth to that strange psy-cat from the egg. Wonder if we'll get to see what the crown is/does to Simons mind and if well meet the real Gunther inside his head?

What? I think you're confused. We already see what the crown does to the ice king/simon, it makes him see creatures from another realm/dimension and gives him ice powers. Presumably his change in personality is just a side effect of this but that could easily change if they ever go into the origins of the crown.

We dont know what a "Gunter" is specifically, since he mentions it before finding/meeting the penguin we know, but thats just another part of the unraveling mystery of adventure time. Its more then likely a pet or childs name that is related to the origins of the crown.

My guess is that Gunter might have been someone important to Simon, and he's hallucinating him in Marceline's place. You know what might make for a great final episode of the arc? If the Ice Crown somehow sucked them into it and Marceline finally reunites with Simon for the last time. It could literally be a labyrinth inside his head with lots of lore thrown around.

There are a lot of easier places to see episodes than YouTube. If you're on reddit there's a subreddit for such a purpose.
