...merely disturbing personal observations.
I think it speaks more to the fact that these are people who live in the USA. Work in the USA. Raise families in the USA.
Why would they want to build a life somewhere, and then smash it to the ground?

I think it would matter on who is getting the taxes lowered vs who would get the money. If the taxes only lower those who are financially stable (250k+/y) and considering how things are now they will in a lot of cases sit on their money. Where as if they inject XXX amount and give to the ones that are jobless/Very low income, they HAVE to spend the money to stay afloat.
Those are just what i think tho, no clue if thats how it would really happen mind you.
HEY NOW
Spoiler: show
Kuronosan, to answer your question:
I am from New York. Currently Long Island.
If you misunderstood my stories as for support for Palin or anything she says, then you done goofed. I understand she is unfit to run anything and I wish she would go away...
But, if she wasn't such a public moron: what would people like you and I discuss on internet forums?
Finally, anything I mentioned is merely support of the idea of anti-American-ism existing in Islamic culture, and not proof. Is there support for pro-western cultural-ism in Muslims?
I'm not saying prove me wrong; I would genuinely like to see any kind of literature with this sentiment.
It depends on whether the people receiving the tax breaks spend all the money rather than save it. In regards to taxing vs spending, but if you're looking to raise demand, you should do both.
Ok so you establish that amongst one of the largest groups of people in the world there exists a portion of that group that are extremists and anti-american. What significance does that have to the whole group? It seems like you totally misunderstood Kuronosan's point.
Zoob:
I understand Kuro's point: a stereotype or a generalization is not proof that every member of a certain group behaves in a particular manner.
The significance that my story has to the group is almost nil as proof of anything. I was relaying some things that happened in my experience with the group.
You, or anyone, may take what I said and interpret it however you like.
You sound like Fox News, a fear-mongering story that's completely irrelevant to the issue.
blkswrdsmn: "I'm not saying they're evil people, just saying some of them want to blow shit up."
Hahaha.
This is funny... did I just unwittingly become a conservative republican?
Oh no! All of a sudden I hate Obama... it must be because he is a black muslim or something something healthcare something something oil spill.
Never said 'evil'. It would come as a surprise to me if anyone here has never had an anti-American sentiment. Anti-American != Evil.
But you are right Hiro, to get back to the actual issue: I don't want them to build a mosque at WTC. Not because I hate Muslims, but rather because I disdain organized religion.
As an aside to the people counting churches, temples, mosques in NYC: this is irrelevant, because it isn't about structures that are there, it is about building new ones. Also, the main reason that these structures are still where they are is because they are historic buildings.
Thank you for setting me straight Hiro.
Kuro:
Not sure what was bigoted. Not sure what was unfounded. What I wrote was not theory or a hypothetical. This is what happened.
Edit: thank you for your vote in advanced, in my blossoming political career.
I love when you see a thread's name and know it will be a good read.
@ blkswrdsmn : So the only reason you are against this is because you disdain organized religion? I feel the same way about religion, that is why i could give two shits about where they put it.
Yabby: Yes. I wouldn't want them to put it anywhere, not because it is a mosque, but because it is a general house of worship.
I understand that some people find meaning and purpose through religion. I can't stand when the answers they find are misguided, or worse yet: abused by religious leaders.
Really what sparked me commenting at all was being reminded of those incidents by looking over this thread. I am bored at work.
This is the one thing that gets me about this.
Like I said, it proves our point much better to allow it... the fact of the matter is they could build an actual mosque with a bigass airplane crashing into a building sculpture in front of it, with a huge sign that says "YAY FOR 9/11"... and that's their right as Americans, and again the best way to express the "spirit" of being an American is to allow it.
Unfortunately, too many people won't see that, and yeah, I'm sure it's going to get fucked with, which sucks.
i hope they build it, and i hope someone fucks with it, so american can finally realize how ass backward of a fucking country they live in
who am i kidding though, if everything that happens up to this point hasn't made anyone realize anything, what is another destroyed place of worship will do, especially one for those damn dirty muslins
