Just started my villain to play with BGers so feel free to add me.
Guh maybe I should play on PC instead, I need folks to play with lol. Almost no one playing on PS3.
Done and done. Where's my update SOE these raids are ZzZzZz!
Spoiler: show
That said, Notorious Gentleman (Villains) on Zero Hour are looking for:
2 Fire Tanks, 1 Sorcery Healer, 1 Plant Healer, 2 Mental Controller (they're bugged atm though, cant restore energy).
Preferred:
Level 30
1+ Tier 1 Gear *Not necessary, we can gear you up quickly if you're active. (We can get you 30+ Marks of Triumph a day if you have 4~ hours a day x_x)
Ventrilo is a MUST!
Available to raid Friday to Sunday, times aren't cemented yet. Must be able to attend atleast one a week.
We accept casual players but the more active you are, the more priority you have for raids!
We do everything in PVP and PVE, there are a lot of static alert groups that run alerts daily to farm Marks of Triumph but many of our members are almost capped on Tier 1 so we're looking for more active players to gear up. We have cleared everything, can do anything, and are ready to dominate Zero Hour.
Send me a PM if you're interested.
I'd like to join a league on the heroes or villains side, but that's a bit more hardcore than I can handle.
We're not that hardcore, I'm just saying we CAN do it, not that we will. The raids only take 1-2 hours to complete, and can only be done once a week. Alerts are all easy, but there's 6 of them so they're a big time sink. We don't even run Arkham Asylum because it takes far too long to do and gives the same amount of marks as the other alerts. We have our set of hardcore players but we're always looking for casual players because many of our players are older and have busy schedules.
Yeah maybe it just seemed intimidating at first glance, plus my level 30 characters are on the hero side, lol. Though it's a breeze leveling and a lot of fun to do. My biggest problem is the sudden shift in difficulty did not prepare me socially, lol.
And I totally noticed that power healing was bugged. I'm glad I'm not crazy.
There are a few that advertise like they're a cornerstone of the server, but I haven't seen any proof that any of them are worthwhile. Exile is one that likes to shout a lot, I think DC Raiders may have been another, but I'm not too sure. I'll probably just end up starting my own with my friends and see how it goes.
Is there any restriction to a trial account? If not, 10 days should be enough to get to level 30 and try some of the raids or PVP.
Can you accomplish something in this game if you play like 20-30h per 2 weeks? without weekends?
So I picked up the game this weekend and I got a lot of what I expected. Things are pretty straight forward for the most part solo. By just messing around and wandering around I figured about all I needed to out. Just playing off and on Saturday and Sunday I got to level 19 pretty easily just through random story missions and random quests I saw on my map as I flew around. I have near full blue gear already just off quest rewards and drops from random crap so I guess that's good.
I noticed that some of my mental abilities that were supposed to help regain power do nothing more than drain the hell out of me, so that sucks (reading the last few posts I suppose that's a known bug). I went the Telekenisis route and while it's fun I find myself using Illusion too, but Telekenetic Bolt is just so damn powerful.
I'm sitting on like $9K and nothing to spend it on lol. My repair bill for gear doesn't run anywhere near enough to put a dent in my money flow and I can't see myself blowing money on picking up gear skins that were available during character creation, I didn't pick that crap for a reason.
Once I hit 30 I guess I'm going to have to start making friends or something, or maybe I can convince my wife to play so we can do the duo stuff. I'll probably make another character at some point. Maybe a Fire tank or maybe a nature toon and give super speed a shot.
A few questions to anyone that has some knowledge on Mentalist toons. I'm currently trying to get as much Dominance as I can through gear and permanent stats in skill trees. Is this even right or do I need to shift myself towards Vitalization? Since I'm not grouping I have no idea what I need to be working towards or anything. I just read Dominance is for Controllers and increases the effect of stuns and Vitalization is for the power regen stuff? I suppose I could try and work on both but if there's a priority I want to focus on that. Also are there any recommended flight powers I should get besides the super speed I got at like 10? The others seem so crappy so far? Maybe some good options come up at 22ish?
So far I'd say the hardest thing I've come across was trying to figure out how to get from Metropolis to Gotham when I needed to for the first time lol. Then the next hardest thing and it's still a pain in the ass for me is figuring out my way around Watchtower. Getting to the Meta room has been such a pain in the ass, if I don't fly down like 1 of 2 tunnels I end up in either a war room or some obscure place like the generator room.
For anyone that cares:
Hero-
Name: Janaj
Powers: Mental/Flight/Dual Guns
Server: Vice and Virtue (I think it's called that I can't remember off the top of my head and that sound about right)
I stack dominance mainly since the regen powers are borked. Playing solo to 30 I began to rely heavily on the telekinesis tree for ice, fire, the defensive shield, and bolt.
Sent you a PM as I'm also on No Man's Land. Decided to roll a villan gadgets controller just for fun and had a blast with it... made it to 23 over the course of a couple days and put my 22 fire tank on hold. Gadgets aren't nearly as gimped as I thought they would be...
So I have a few questions for people who have hit 30 already. One, I got the quest to queue up for Smallville, but it doesn't appear on my alerts list. What gives? I also don't see any distinction between HM alerts and normal alerts. Dunno if I should queue up for Area 51 or if it would send me to the level 10 instance. I did the Poison Ivy instance on hard and got screwed out of the reward because it looks like it's bugged. Drag.
